It is actually a surprise. These teams are usually dominated by power 5 teams. Just look at the players and what teams they represent. Carr had to have eye popping numbers just to make 3rd team.

Oh come on. The kid led the nation in APY most of the year. People take notice of those players. So, to me, it would have been a bigger surprise if he was left off.

He was one of the reasons I braved the elements for the WKU game.

One thing I will always acknowledge is a good football player. I don't care who they are playing for.

Last season he almost broke Barry Sander's single season APY record. Missed it by less then 100 yards and he was only an honorable mention AA. This season he set the FBS record for APY over a two year span. Maybe that played into their minds this season. It is hard for non P5 teams to have players on these lists. Definitely well deserved by Antonio.

He is the reason you lost to South this year. He only ran the ball 15 times for 122 yards. If your stupid coach had fed him the ball it would have been no contest.

Agreed, it was not until mid-season that Petrino figured out that what he had and stopped passing the ball so much

OK, find me one other post season All-American team that has a SBC player included? There are several out there. I have not found one yet. Athalon just happened to have one for all-purpose position and most don't have this.
I tell you these "teams" are jaded towards the Power 5 conferences, you only find a handful of players from the lesser leagues. Just look at the Athalon linebackers listed they have 2 from Stanford who determines they are more deserving than Anderson, Jackson, or Boyd? I know stats are only part of it but Matakevich of Temple had 105 solo tackles and didn't even make 3rd team. These "teams" are popularity votes and a players popularity seems to be most influential reason. IMHO

The top two tacklers in the country weren't on there, Tyler from Temple and Keith Smith from San Jose State. Tyler usually gets honorable mention for these things because he doesn't get sacks and INTs.
