UT always has some drama and takes away from regular news and they timed this to take away from the heisman. Call me not surprised. Lead story on their stattion, ESPN, even.

Kind of hate to see it, but was probably a few years past time.
Mack Brown had his first head football coaching job at App State.

Still owns the local Chevrolet/GM dealership in Boone,
or at least his name is still on it:

He stopped being a coach and became a CEO when they renewed his contract. The man made 15K a day and had lost his football edge; having turned into a showman, figurehead, TV personality and businessman instead of a coach. Nice guy or no, he stayed beyond where he should have. Money and connections became his priorities, sadly.

Not a personal dig but anytime something wonky happens to/at UT, I have no problem with it.

Sadly we feel the same way about UNC-Chapel Hill, incidentally another place that Mack Brown coached at.

they dont time anything based on somebody else's news. they dont have a guy in the show so not important to them as the fate of their coach. very large school in a large state and they have 250k+ alumni so this is important news for them. they think everything revolves around them and if you were to pick up the austin news paper or watch any of the local tv channels you would see what I mean. yes they have plenty of drama around them but I'm sure there are a few other schools that do as well. I dont remember any death threats against a ut kicker over missed field goals for example.

Chris Simms got death threats back in the early 2000's, 2001? (they were talking about it the other day on 104.9 the horn) either after an OU game, B12 CG or BCS bowl? I forget which.

As for the newspaper, I don't anymore. We stopped delivery 2 yrs ago. The sports section is all Longhorns....it's their "pro" team.

It broke at the same time as the Heisman Ceremony and it still was the lead story over the Heisman on Sportscenter. To me, that's not right.
I call that calculated.
