It is quite an accomplishment to continue to obviously bring in good recruits when coaches are coming and going off the staff at this time of year now for several years in a row.

Never sell the coach...only sell the school. If a player is committed to the coach, decline interest.

My favorite pastime during an ASU coaching search is listening to the radio and making a list of the stupid candidates our fans come up with.

This year's crazy list as I call it, stretches from Mack Brown to the head coach of Jonesboro High School.

My instincts tell me that Blake Anderson is now the leading candidate. I've seen rumors that we have talked to Kurt Roper and Mike Norvell, and out of those two, Roper doesn't impress me, and while I like Norvell, I just don't hear anything credible indicating he's interested.

If everything falls completely apart, then ASU chooses to hire Thompson and offer 300K or so to bring in an offensive coordinator from a lower level.

I promise you.

That flat out won't happen...

Under any circumstance.

Mack Brown would bring a lot of attention. Probably good recruiting. National attention would be there for sure.
Know it wouldn't happen. Doubt he will ever take another job anyway, imagine he is set for life, but almost certainly not right away.

This idea of Mack Brown is really silly. Don't know if I should laugh or understand someone is having a joke. From what I read, Brown has a contract until 2020 at $5 million/year. He will be a special assistant to the president. In other words, expect Mack to keep his ass in Austin.

We are all praying that Tweet is right. Those three and Blake Anderson averaged in the top 6 in the country in yards per play this year.

Things got really funny when an ASU plane ended up in Raleigh yesterday, stayed 24 hours, and landed in Little Rock this morning with our search committee supposedly on board. The weird thing about that is that we could have interviewed Anderson in about an hour...why would we stay 24?

On a side note, ASU by laws require that our chancellor and president cannot ride in the same plane together unless its for a coaching search. First I had ever heard of an institution doing that.

Do you have a link to that I would love to read the wording and when it was put in place. For the life of me I can't think of something where this law would could up and be worded like that.

I haven't found it, but its been brought up on our board and confirmed by a few media types. The rationale is that the two most important positions in the ASU system is the System President and the Jonesboro Chancellor.

As I read that I was sure you would add: and the third is obviously the head football coach.03-lmfao

You understand that the idea of separating top management in travel s not unusual at all in the corporate world. Normal policy and smart.

Dan 6. As expected, our board is starting to panic for no particular reason. I think the relative lack of sourced information is keeping everyone on edge.

Not a bylaw it's a guideline. Those aren't binding.

That would follow along with the way Mohajir hired last year. We had Gran on standby while we went after Bryan Harsin.

Only 4 SBC Coaches have ever left for a better FBS job. All have come since 2011, and three coached at ASU. Its better for the conference to have coaches take better jobs. No matter how much our fans hate it.

Most of this could be from how young the conference is and also with the youth of the leagues teams playing at the FBS level.

We've had moments of panic. But overall I think we have been calmer than the last couple of times and much calmer than Boise State fans were.

Plenty more have had offers to do so, but for whatever reasons passed
