Interesting to see how little that rankings mean in the bowl selection process:

I wish yall had gotten Pitt's spot.

Nice to see South rounding out the Top 80.
And we got a little blurb at the bottom!

Or Rutgers...Rutgers schedule is a joke man, if I was playing for Rutgers I would feel like a fraud...They were playing at home last week of the season vs. a horrible team and than when they win congrats, you get a bowl close by vs. Notre Dame....Pitt does it every season too....Go ahead and pencil them in at 6 and 6 next season...Amazing every season its the same teams backing their way in to bowls...Happens every season..

I don't think that Georgia State was the worst team in FBS. Otherwise, a fairly accurate rating.

I think that Miami (OH) and Georgia State belong there. 0-12 gets you the bottom of the pile. I'm glad Georgia State appears to have turned things around, but their record is what it is. 0-12 with 3 losses to FCS teams. Do I think they'd lose to teams 110-124? Not necessarily. But they belong there, based upon their record.

I guess it is time to move on. WKU clearly deserved to be in a bowl. I wish they had received a bid. All the SBC can do is move ahead, try to increase the guarantee spots and have teams step up to show we deserve more spots.

If NAVY,stAte,Cajuns all win out WKU could finish in the forties.Thirteen!#*! teams ranked below WKU made bowls.OH WELL. At least in basketball(and baseball and volleyball and track and softball and cross country and and and...) you can prove yourself in competition. These are just the facts.Correct me if I am wrong.

We all know that FBS football is unlike most other sports in many ways so this is nothing new. We all knew going into the season that the SBC had two bowls and one must win the conference to be assured a bowl bid. We didn't. Congrats to ASU and ULL on sharing the title and getting bowls.

On to basketball......and just as a reminder, this is typically a one bid conference so there should be no shock come March if your team doesn't win the SBC Tournament and doesn't get a bid to the NCAA Tournament. That's the world we live in currently.

It's not that different from basketball. Teams with better resumes are left out for big 6 schools. I have never seen a conference champ in football not play in the post season.

Completely agree Apollo!I was just restating the obvious for emphasis and clarity. Some of our friends on this board are so football-centric or focused that I feel they may put these differences too far in the back of their thoughts.

The SEC must be pissed at UK for screwing up their average.
