Why??? Look at OU's finish. They are awful.

I'm with ya. I had already written off the possibility that we would go bowling, so if it turns out not to be true and Toledo is going instead of us, I wouldn't be mad or surprised about that.

"awful" as we may be, we did win our last game of the year unlike last year when we went bowling with a three-game losing streak to end the season.

UMass? Wow, impressive. Toledo is a MUCH better team despite the Akron loss. Will OU sell that many more tickets than Toledo? That's likely what it boiled down to.

Well, with BSU official for GoDaddy... I'm assuming Lembo will not be coaching the game. Was hoping for one of the early games...

Awesome! Against ECU, that will be a very tough match-up for us, but I'm hoping we're up for the challenge!

Why Ohio over Toledo? Ohio better show up.

Also, I hope Ball State rolls in the Go Daddy. The Ark State fans seem very confident they will roll you guys since you lost to North Texas and they are co-league champs. A league champ of the worst FBS conference with five losses including a blowout to Memphis. I want to see Wenning shatter some records.

Wowzers. I just did a Kayak search for airline prices and the CHEAPEST flight from Buffalo to Boise if you leave the day before the game and return the day after is $1,083.

I had heard UB had a choice between the Potato Bowl and the Beef Bowl. Did they really or did the MAC decide to give the Beef Bowl to its precious darling Ohio?

I looked at making the trip from Cleveland to Boise when Ohio made it a few years ago. I think it was something like $900 plus taxes. If I remember right, the cheapest option was to fly into Salt Lake, but thats a 4 hour drive from Boise. I just couldn't swing it.

As for having a choice, I doubt it. I would assume Boise wanted the better team and had the tie in. Don't know what if anything could have been offered for them to take a team that wasn't their first (or probably their second or third) choice. Just my opinion though.

Just be happy that you each got a bowl game.

Toledo screwed themselves.

More precisely, Toledo was screwed by a coaching staff who over the course of the entire season was never able to figure out how to prepare their team to play consistent football for an entire 60 minutes.

Missouri was one quarter away from very possibly playing for the national championship this year. Yet believe it or not, Toledo matched up very well with them and had Toledo executed better in that game, and had a few breaks go their way, they could have even won that game.

That's what I did last year when UT went to Boise. I flew into/out of Salt Lake City and drive to Boise. It was a nice, easy drive with great scenery. Not bad at all.

Ohio getting a bowl over Toledo is why I laugh at people who make their bowl guesses based on results.

I am shocked Ohio got a bowl bid over Toledo. If I were UT I would be a little upset. I wonder how many alumni Ohio has in Florida compared to UT? As you can tell I am grasping for a reason.
