Exclamation One Game That Stings
I know everyone has at least one game this season that they felt they basically gave the game away that they should have won and a few have more than one.
I bet most Topper fans would agree the home loss to Troy is the one that sticks in their craw. We gift wrapped a couple of TD's with turnovers and outgained them by 135 yds but yet only lost by 6. Also were on their 22 yd line, headed for a TD, when Andrews was stopped on 4th down. 03-weeping

We have been there, Indiana St. Those always sting the most. It does ensure that your program never takes an FCS opponent for granted again.

You just described seven or eight Troy conference games over the last two years. Welcome to the club. It's tough being a Troy fan. And yes, it was odd seeing it layed out for us in reverse.

RE: One Game That Stings
Franko, I mentioned in another thread that now that the season is over, and looking how close some of the Belt teams are/were to getting a bowl invite, it sure makes one reflect on how important it is to take each game one game at a time.

For the Cajuns I don't see any that we gave away within the Belt. Some might say that the ULM game we should have won because of our early lead, but I believe we were destined to lose that one. After weeks off pulling our fat out of the fire, it finally caught up with us. Browning proved to be everything I feared he was......hard to trap in the pocket and able to find the open man even with someone hanging on his back.

For me, the team I really wanted to see do well was the Bobcat team from TxState. They came close, very close, but just couldn't close and I'm sure that more than one of them would agree that their home loss to a Browningless ULM team was the one that they let slip through their fingers. Add that game as a win to their totals and their record sure looks a lot better.

I believe next year GaState will be much improved though I know nothing about their graduation rates. AppState is one team I'm anxious to see perform in the Belt. Looks like they've got a super fan base and I like that in any team.

Good luck to our Belt-mates next year and let's bring home some bowl victories this year.

Strangely enough, that game doesn't stick in my craw as much as the other 1 or 2 point losses. The Southern Utah game was a day of reckoning.

Hands down, the ULM game. From the 2 pick 6's our fresh QB threw, to the clock management on how we handled the last drive... It just sucked.

Game that stings was ULL for me...

1st and goal and can't get it in the endzone to win the game...

Also Duke comes to mind... Holding call that puts us outside the red zone and a possible TD to win the game.

I want to say Memphis because I think we are a better team than them. But it's gotta be WKU..I don't think we are any better team but it would have meant an outright championship if we had won.
