I am with you on the weather wishes and hope they are favorable. I look for a hard fought game and it is equally important for both teams.

RE: USA vs. UL-L odds
Yea, not seeing that argument that USA has more to play for. What a joke of a statement.

UL has had the Conference Championship as their #1 goal since the end of last season... and here it is for the taking... the outright Championship is something that has eluded us... you bet your ass we will be amped up for this game in trying to win the Championship. Granted... our young QB with hardly any playing time should be a factor in our ability to get the win... but I see our offensive line and stud RBs setting the tone for this game.

I think Elijah McGuire and Alonzo Harris will have huge games and redshirt freshman QB Brooks Haack may surprise some of you with his throwing ability.

It will be a close game no doubt... but to say USA has more to play for is laughable. ESPECIALLY since we are coming off a LOSS. Hudflop? More like Hudtrain coming thru town.

Agree with most of your statement though I wish the Cajuns had been equally 'amped up' last Saturday night. I don't know if during the game they knew that WKU had beaten stAte, but it sure would have been easier to put this one to bed then, rather than now.

Nothing will surprise me tomorrow evening. And now that I've said that, I realize I've said the same for any number of games this year. Honestly, I was more confident that the Cajun basketball team would knock off Lolly Polly up there than I am about the footballers knocking off USA in Mobile.

EDIT: If it were easy, they'd be 9-2. But I think you get my point.

But your are not 9-2 your a 5-6 and will be sitting home......It is time

No doubt, you're in for a rude awakening.

Agreed......Have a great day...

I agree we should've been more amped for ULM, but I think the "let-down" game has been looming for a long while with this win streak we had going... now that we got that freakin speed bump out of the way... I think the guys will get their minds right and back on track.... I 100% agree that anything can happen and USA is a very solid team and could very well beat us. I just don't see HUD letting his team slip 2 games in a row at this point in the season.

I kind of saw the ULM loss coming while everyone was thinking we'd blow them out... something just didn't feel right about the week leading up to the game. But like I said, now that it's out of the way... the focus is back on the Championship game which is what this is.

Win or lose, going to be fun to see what Haack is all about.

He sure looked poised in the short time he played against ULM. I hope the kid pulls through for us.

I sure hope so that way I can do a lot of high fives to keep warm in the stadium.

What let down? You watched a different game then I did last Saturday. The Cajuns were ready to play, jumping out to a 14-0 lead. Three TO's, a missed FG and your starting QB getting hurt was the difference in the game. UL left 17 points on the field inside the Redzone. The problem is Browning did what UL didn't want him to do, break containment and make big throws. Give their staff credit as well for making adjustments and executing the fake punt. Had UL been ready and stopped them on 4th down, Monroe's momentum was done. The problem was UL thought playing good one half would be good enough to win, that wasn't the case. ULM did not quit.

The blame falls on Hudspeth and his staff for not being able to make adjustments. The athletes showed they were ready to play from the first snap.

USA will be at least as motivated as ULL. Not only is getting bowl eligible in their first year a powerful inspiration for the team (even if they don't get a bowl bid), but this is also Senior Night. And not just any Senior Night, but the last home game for the founding recruiting class of the program.
The team who executes the best will win the game because I anticipate focus and emotion won't be a problem for either.

RE: USA vs. UL-L odds
No doubt both teams have a lot to play for, but the Jags more, and having an inexperienced quarterback means that we will have to execute better in other positions.

Advantage Jags: Home field advantage, emotional last game for founding players, healthy experienced quarterback.

Advantage Cajuns: Overall talent, desire to get a championship alone, potential double digit win season. Big game experience.

Negatives Jag: Big game experience.

Negatives Cajuns: road trip, first time starting quarterback with little game experience.
