Cajuns vs. the Greenies
I'm expecting at least 65,00o for this game. Tulane has been one of those teams that have got better and better. Strangely, the Cajuns have seem to have gone from fantastic to okay. This is a huge game for both teams. We recruit many of the same kids. This by no way a give me game and should be an emotion fueled war. Looking forward to the pregame, game and post game parties! GEAUX CAJUNS!

Had surgery today and placed a metal plate over the broken bone in his forearm. Don't see him playing again this season.

That backup was throwing some pretty passes.

Against a prevent defense in a cover 3. He won't see that from USA this weekend.

Good luck! We're excited to be back in a bowl and I'm happy it is in New Orleans so our fan base can reawaken.

Avg fan is thrilled it will be in New Orleans and thrilled to go to the bowl but less than happy about the bowl payout and (sorry) not that thrilled at the opponent. Not saying ULL isn't worthy, (most fans know ULL has been great lately), but most people don't get excited about playing ULL in a bowl.

It's a look who we used to play and now no longer kind of thing. Living in the past.

RE: Cajuns vs. the Greenies
Ah rube fans and bowl payouts.

New Orleans has the lowest payout because it requires the smallest ticket purchase by teams. Excess over what is allotted to schools goes to the bowl but they have to kick back part of the profit to the schools, they can only keep a percentage of the net and have to split the rest.

New Orleans also doesn't charge the participating leagues a "marketing fee". Most lower tier bowls work like this. You pay me $300,000 to "market" your league, then I give you $400,000 in face value tickets and write you a check for $350,000 cash (of which $300,000 is YOUR MONEY) and I tell everyone I paid you $750,000.

In Tulane's case I'd presume that any profit that gets passed through the league gets kept by the league and is forfeited by Tulane because you are leaving.

Probably explains why CUSA was willing to let Tulane go.

I believe this is correct.
