With the reported Cajuns bid to NOLA a lock (meaning no Indy deal), a Fresno loss would be total disaster for the extra bowl eligible Sun Belt teams. Would mean that all six MWC bowls are filled (no Potato slot), and that MWC likely will have an extra team. If SJSU wins there looks to be only 6 at large slots open with Notre Dame, two Pac 12 teams, and an ACC team likely getting first dibs. If Syracuse wins, that's another at large team in front of Go5 schools. That said, I think the Belt is in good shape to get at least the Pizza Bowl bid.

Beef O Brady's must fill with a MAC per the backup agreement. Notre Dame and a Pac 12 team go to Pinstripe and Poinsettia.

That leaves only 3 bowl slots open - Heart of Dallas, Pizza, and Independence - with another Pac 12, an ACC (potentially 2), potentially 1 or 2 MWC, and a host of Belt and MAC schools. You have to imagine the Pac 12 and ACC schools will get priority.

Best case scenario is that the Pizza Bowl slot is left for the Sun Belt. Even then, it's unlikely.

This assumes NIU goes to BCS. If not, there will be another extra slot somewhere for another at large team.
