Just curious, but aren't Louisiana fans bored with the New Orleans Bowl by now?

The Cajuns will play Ball State in the GoDaddy Bowl.

Heard it here first.

I wouldn't bet the farm on the Cajuns landing in Mobile. and to answer the other question how could you get tired of a bowl that excepted you with open arms 1hr 45 min from campus.

You've obviously never partied in New Orleans with 45,000 of your team's fan base. No, we will never tire of New Orleans. This is becoming a tradition. Everyone in my circle of friends has already made their hotel reservations for over three weeks now. There is no sports destination better than New Orleans. This will definately be a top 10 bowl in attendance. Geaux Cajuns!COGS

LOL. This will never happen. Nobody wants to play in Mobile on January 5th and even less care about playing Ball State. You would be hard pressed to find anyone in the South who knows where the hell Ball State is. I'd bet the farm that this will not happen, period.

Thank you I seriously did not know that. And its not that we don't want to play Ball State, we just prefer to play in state on a Saturday night in Nawlins that's all.

I mean either one of us could have easily looked it up, there is a MAC school in Muncie, I'm nearly certain it's Ball State.

Fans want what's best for fans and it should be that way when it comes to a bowl game. Who can blame ULL fans for wanting New Orleans over any other bowl well any other SBC bowl.

It's close to home
It's in state
It's in a party/destination city
It's in a dome (I don't like domes)

The only thing Mobile has over New Orleans is beaches with in a easy drive and way better fishing.

You're absolutely correct all the conveniences a fan would want. The dome is huge good temperature no wind or rain. I don't know too many people that wouldn't want to spend a weekend in New Orleans. Lots of our fans get there on Thursday for the Marching band parade down Bourbon Street.

Appreciate that but for me unless we're playing a ranked team or in a BCS game its just another bowl game for the fans and players to enjoy. I have no problem with NOB or playing Tulane because a couple of years ago we were Tulane. Gotta dance with the girl you brung. There will be several bowl eligible teams wishing they were Tulane or playing them.

Well, you and probably many Cajun fans. The problem is the last two bowl games weren't against BCS or ranked teams, but certainly better programs then UL. Its part of the reason UL's brand recognition is on the rise. You don't just do that by showing up at a bowl game in large numbers...UL actually needs to beat good programs. Tulane ain't it.

We've got three weeks to discuss what we're going to do to Tulane. I'd rather discuss how badly we're going to beat little brother tomorrow.

Yep, a tradition much like loving the status-quo! This is the problem with a large number of the UL fans base, a little success is just enough. The NO Bowl is just fine, because we can't accomodate our fan base with an easy drive and playing indoors at any other bowl. I get so excited about this programs's future reading such post. Why would any Cajun fan push this administration for something more in the future beyond the SBC and the NO Bowl? .......The NO Bowl is just too good of a destination to ever consider any other bowl.
