We should respectfully decline one if offered...wouldn't be fair to the MAC to have us representing in our current state. If the team is as banged up as Campbell said in his post-game, then we're physically not ready for one, either. Let's wrap the season up. I don't think many fans would mind. Nothing good can come from a loss in a bowl and a 7-6 season. At this point I'd be worried that more players would just get injured during the practices leading up to a bowl. We sure seem to have a lot of injuries...maybe need to re-examine our strength & conditioning program?

My opinion is that we have had a season with very few injuries, certainly fewer than most teams. Yes, we lost Voss early and Fluellen was on and of much of the season. But really, what else other than minor injuries? Most players are hurt to some extent by the end of the season.

Same exact thing I was thinking. All teams have bumps and bruises. And having 3+ weeks off before a bowl game will be a big help.

Voss, and Hayden was out for weeks, Jayrone probably hasn't been 100% for a while.

Flu, then they ran Hunt more than they probably should have. Hope he'll be OK.

TO and Reedy stayed healthy, though, didn't they?

Campbell said in his post-game that Owens played hurt in the second half. Hip pointer. Reedy had hand injuries all season. Ok--that one I made up. But Campbell did say that Owen was hurt.

Oh, OK. I guess that explains why he ignored wide open receivers and instead threw to guys who were covered.

I'd loved to be able to get a free college education by playing football. God grant me a few more inches and a lot more weight, I'd do my best!!

RE: Toledo @ Akron
I love our coaches and their development of the kids, but they do not do a good job of game planning. Every game we have played this season - we should have won or been im contention to win.

We don't plan with the intent to take away the opponent's strength. Classic example is against NIU. Only way they beat us is with Lynch running. Yet we allow him to run all over us in the second half. We could have won that game, but our caoches ignored what Lynch does so well. We should have put 8 in the box, played man coverage and not allowed Lynch to run. He will not beat us with his arm - period.

Florida - our O sucked; TO was off and Ready couldn't catch a pass
Missouri - we should have won that game
Ball State - should have blitzed the hell out of Wenning - zone killed us
Akron - terrible game plan - our kids were not motivated and we got out coached - especially on the fake punt. Akron called a time out on that 4th and 2 - so the UT coach needs to emphasize to the D that they might run the fake. Come on - I was yelling at the TV - watch the fake!!!

Couldn't agree more on that fake punt, was really disappointed Watson didn't have them ready for it. They didn't call time out for no reason and have ran that in a couple games this year. Special teams was below standards yesterday. We worry about JD's record than putting points on the board such as our first procession. We still are not great on KO coverage, just been fortunate enough that most KO hit end zone. Missed XP just topped it off.
