That whole 2006 season is Texas State's fault.
I'll take it one step further.
Van Gorder decided to not go after some of Sewak's recruits as he wanted to go from the Triple Option to pro style. One of those recruits was a skinny QB from rural South Carolina who otherwise would have gone to Georgia Southern.
The kid? Armanti Edwards.
That is a story that will be told as long as these two teams play. In all honesty, if we still land Edwards and Foster and keep running the flex bone, we probably have the most prolific offense in FCS history and win #7 and possibly #8 and #9, and App State doesn't 3peat.
What a huge turn on events, all thanks to Texas F'ing State. I have tons of respect and admiration for App, but you guys owe Texas State a HUGE thank you.
I'm still cold and bitter about the turn of events (App 3peats and skyrockets as a program and we go through a very dark time in our program). I CAN'T WAIT for this revenge game!!

Nevermind the fact that we handled Georgia Southern in the regular season in 2005: 24-7 - also nevermind that since 2005 we are 7-2 against Georgia Southern.

I remember being shocked that you guys fired your coach after losing to TxSt. Georgia Southern was what, 8-3, that year? I thought it was a complete over reaction to TxSt loss by your AD and fans and something that you would come to regret. Didn't know about Armanti Edwards going to Georgia Southern. That has got to sting.
