Leaving class aside, I don't think an SEC team is going to go for Petrino yet. Long is the playoff chair, he left an SEC AD hanging and upset an SEC team's apple cart, he didn't actually do that well this year, when he leaves a program it leaves with him.

I don't really understand the hype about Petrino. From the bit I've read about the guy, he seems to be something of a loose cannon....and a not very accurate one at that.

In order of importance

1. Ole Miss over Miss State (Opens up Birmingham)
2. Boston College over Syracuse (If Cuse win, ACC is guaranteed an extra likely Birmingham)
3. Fresno State to beat San Jose State (Keeps MWC from getting extra)
4. Utah State to beat Wyoming (Same as above)

One thing to keep in mind about Birmingham is that they have filled with ACC teams before, and if given a choice between Detroit and Birmingham, they may choose Birmingham. If Pitt is the only open team, they went to BBVA last year, and may choose Detroit to avoid a repeat performance. Syracuse would cause a major problem.

It is in our best interest for Michigan state or Wisconsin to make the BCS this year with Ohio State. That opens Heart Of Dallas, who would almost assuredly take one of the two extra Pac 12 teams.

Its better for the league for Fresno State to leapfrog Northern Illinois in the BCS race. If Fresno leaps, Idaho comes open and will certainly take the other Pac 12 team.

We want no crazy deals. Notre Dame needs to quit complaining and go to New York. Last thing we want is them working out a deal with Shreveport.

I think the safe bet is the SBC places three. ASU, ULL, and WKU.

It's plausible that all 4 of these could happen. 2 should definitely happen. By the way, Pitt has been to Birmingham the past two years, and lost both times.

3 and 4 will most likely happen . Utah State and Fresno State are both solid teams that should win handily over their opponents this week.

These updates are appreciated. I certainly don't take the time each week to look at all the queues, so it's nice to get a summary here.

At this point, Florida is a possibility for Hud. It may be a small chance but a chance nonetheless.

I never thought about that one and I really don't care about the whole Hud moving on thing. There is a bit of intrigue if he went to Florida though, and its a much better option than Miss St. Florida has a tendency to pull in some good recruits and is traditionally a contender in the SEC. Hud at Florida would actually be pretty awesome to watch and see how that developed. Anyways he's a good coach and hopefully he stay with you guys for a while.

Florida is just taking our OL coach from the sound of it....I am just not seeing many coaching vacancies this off season...I know their will be a few, but I am keeping my eye on Texas, not saying BP would go their but it would create dominoes where BP is back in the SEC next season..I predict HUD will be at MISS. St. next season....No way he would turn down that SEC job...

As far as bowl goes WKU needs Troy to lose to avoid Detroit....Go BOB CATS!

Yea I am sure he is an ass, but no one cares if you win games, his resume speaks for itself.....

Oh, yes they could. If they want him, they've got him.

do you read before you post? that's kinda EXACTLY what he said.

i bolded the pertinent part.

i apologize in advance if you're just a guy that when someone says the sun rises in the east you reply with 'oh yes it does...in the eastern east'

Oh yes, "dumbeed", I did read it and I posted what I intended to post. I know what he said. We don't know if UF is even interested in Petrino at this point, but like I said, if they DID want him, they will get him, GET it?

Start making a list. Ole Miss won't lose this weekend.

That's fine, as long as they lose tomorrow night, I couldn't care less what they do this weekend.

Its a rivalry game, so records, bowl eligible vs. needing one, players, sites, etc. don't matter one bit. Those teams hate each other and each will do what they can to win.

It's no chance. Florida won't waste their time with him or Petrino. If they make a move this year, they will go after Charlie Strong and make him an offer he cannot refuse.

But, it does help the rolling bowl average. That puts the conference in better shape to add additional bowl slots when it looks as if they'd be welcomed.
