Hey, I haven't actually kept up with Charlotte. When did the coaching change happen and what were the circumstances?

2010-2011 season.

The circumstances were we had a great start the year before, were getting some votes, and were leading the A10 standings about halfway through conference play. We had 18 wins. We then went on to lose something like 7 out of our last 8 games. So we ended up finishing with just 19 wins on the season after a great start.

The administration had had enough of Lutz not getting to the post season so they fired him with 4 years left on his contract (so he's still getting a paycheck from us this year).

Lutz was a bum in the A10. Our recruiting was a joke. It was almost all JUCO players or transfers that mostly didn't pan out. His Lutz-ball style just didn't mesh with the A10.
