In my opinion, receiving votes right now is unexpected. Now let's go beat the next three "cupcakes" and prove that we deserve to be on that list.

Making a national championship game the prior season does mean something for the first few weeks of the season. Charlotte is a respected program....might say more about that if you think about it. It wasn't a bad loss at all for Michigan, imo. They simply got beat by a solid team.

I think Charlotte along w/ USM could be the teams to beat in CUSA

I don't think it is unexpected as we had a bigger weekend than any other team not named UMass. Like you said, next 3 games are a must.

We'll know what kind of team we have after the Belmont game at home and the road games at Cincy and Ole Miss. If we can take two of those three, we're legit.

if Ole Miss job ever comes open, I'm afraid Tech might lose their head coach

We need to crush the next three teams we play if we want to keep getting votes/get more.

Then we face off against FSU. Win the next three and that game and we'll be in the top 25 for sure. For now, I just hope we don't have a letdown defeat against UNCA.

Fortunately, we don't play again until after Thanksgiving, so our guys have plenty of rest.

Just realized 12/1 is a doubleheader for me, Panthers football then Niners basketball. Is this real life?

I think Charlotte is 2 points from being in the top 25 right now. With FSU and GT left on the non conference schedule you still have a chance to get there before conference play.

That's because Michigan is much better than Charlotte and would destroy them if they played - lol...

I rather fly under-the-radar for as long as we can but seeing a number beside Charlotte would be awesome. I attended the school during one of our worst four year stretches in our basketball history and would've killed to see that as a student.

Though it was fun rushing the floor against Xavier, Temple, and Tennessee (at TWC Arena) as underdogs. ha

USM undefeated and have had 20+ win seasons since 2009. Should at least have a few votes! A black friday win over UL would take care of that.

In a previous time if Charlottte got ranked that would mean to expect an immediate loss was to follow. Hopefully a new coach will help change that. I don't mind flying under the radar as it keeps the players hungry.
