All NIU fans ought to be ... "all" MAC fans cheering the same direction in a game in another conference is highly unlikely.

If another MAC school doesn't want NIU in a BCS bowl they can decline their $833K check, I don't think anyone else in the conference would mind.

I'm rooting for Iowa (and NIU as a result), you guys are pretty much paying for Treadwell's buyout.

Fresno scores a questionable TD (not sure he had possession of that in bounds). 14-13.

That has what, exactly, to do with what team anybody cheers for in a conference game in another conference?

Iowa wins, and BG is likely higher ranked foe for MACC. Both good for NIU.

RE: NIU moves ahead of FSU
But obviously it's just because their offenses are that good, not that their defenses suck. Oh and by the way, NIU's 48 points against Ball State and 35 against Toledo were against crappy MAC teams, the Huskies don't know that you impress voters by beating winless Hawaii by five and giving up over 40 points in one half against a SJSU team that might not even be bowling.

SJSU just pulled a WMU and began the second half recovering an onsides kick.

I don't care if Fresno comes back or not. They've given up 59 to a 5-6 team. They're not worthy of holding NIU's jocks.

The "defense" played in that FSU - SJSU game is atrocious. Why bother? Let them score so we can get the ball back.

I'm just glad they lost.

They thought they were so much better than us and the MAC.

Bottom 4 conference champs play a play-in game, 7v10 and 8v9. Winners join champs 1-6 for 8 team quarter final playoff. 4 winners play in semifinals, 2 winners play for Natl Champ.

Every team starts fall camp with a clear path to a national championship- first step- win your division. Think its not fair that you're in a tough division (ie SEC West v SBC West)? Two options- move to a weaker conference or shut up and figure out how to beat your peers.

Champ decided on the field, not in a TV studio.

To follow up on this post, this is what we'd see out of a 10-team playoff for this postseason (assuming there are no upsets during CC week):

(1) Florida State vs. (8) Fresno State / (9) Marshall
(4) Oklahoma State vs. (5) Stanford

(2) Ohio State vs. (7) UCF / (10) UL-Lafayette
(3) Auburn vs. (6) NIU

Wouldn't that be something to see an NIU-OSU matchup with an NC bid at stake...
