ECU picks up 14 votes in Harris poll & is ranked #29 in the Coach's

A lot of the teams ahead of ECU have stiff competition this week so if ECU can take care of business @ Marshall I expect the Pirates to slip into the top 25 next week.

Really says a great deal about how little regard this Conf has, as a 9-2 team cannot even get ranked.

Good one. 03-lmfao

You obviously don't understand how the BCS rankings work. I just figured it out myself a few days ago. I'll be quick.

Anyone who receives a vote in either the Harris or coaches poll is automatically moved ahead of everyone who doesn't have a vote. Everyone without a vote is ranked based on their computer rating. ECU was around 46-48 last week but they picked up some votes this week and moved up to 36. Trust me it wasn't because you beat UAB. So my theory is if we beat FIU and ECU we will get at least one vote and we will move ahead of everyone without a vote. I just hope it's enough to get ahead of Rice or North Texas, whichever wins the West.

Another example is Cincinnati, they have a computer ranking that would place them in the 60's but because they have a few votes they are in the 30's.

Now you know. You're welcome.

So if you only need one vote in either poll to jump you above all other computer only ranked teams, one coach or writer could potentially sway the location of the championship game??

Seems a bit sketchy to me.

I've never heard of a team jumping or falling 40+ spots in a poll over a week period.

If teams like Southern Miss, FAU, etc would quit scheduling impossibly hard OOC schedules, we might get some respect.

How is there a post in this thread that quotes other posts that don't seem to exist?

Who do you suggest USM schedule. They can't beat any FBS team right now so it really doesn't matter. Just take your beat down and cash your check.

Marshall should dominate this league next year, and I suspect you guys will run not the same ranking struggles as we have this year. I really do not see anyone in Conf USA who will stop Marshall next year.

I expect an annual Marshall-UTSA championship game. There is a serious power vacuum in the league and I think those two programs will benefit the most from it and advance their programs.

FAU and MTSU programs will be tough. FAU might be scary good.
