Running up the score comment was a joke. I thought you guys would think that's funny considering you were in a position to do that against an instate AQ school. Man, most of you are sensitive little b1tches.

ECU posters above talking about playing younger players yet Carden was still in the game with a minute and change throwing TD passes to a starting WR while already up by 21. That = Dumb. From an injury standpoint when you're about to play the biggest game of the year.

we've rehashed the issue of why about 100 times on this forum. smh.

Which now that I know that makes it even dumber than before that he was in there dropping back.

You all would be singing a different tune today if Carden would have gotten dropped and separated his shoulder on that play which is something that was absolutely plausible especially considering State brought an all out blitz. Not only would you have unnecessarily lost him for the rest of the season you would also be blowing a redshirt with only a couple of games left in the year.

Though I love the fact you gorged them for one more score, that wasn't just dumb. That was one of the stupidest things I've seen all year.

Damn great catch, but IMO, not as great J.J. Worton's (UCF WR) one handed grab in damn near the back of the end zone against Temple.

RE: Catch of the year?
Speaking of RUTS, do any of you feel we ran it up at FIU. We put the backups in end of 3rd with the score only 34-3. They scored against backups to make it 34-10. Froh broke free for a 40 yard touchdown run. 42-10. Then he had an endzone throw, as a backup, that was a TD ending 48-10. I will not believe we had any intention of embarrassing FIU. That, to me, is the definition of running it up. I thought we were silly given our history on the road with a full quarter left to play to pull starters at 34-3. Not because I wanted to pound on FIU, but because I've seen leads slip away from us too many times too fast.

Anyway a few Herd fans claimed that last touchdown was over the top. I don't think you can tell a backup QB running your offense that he can't make an exceptional throw to a backup receiver who made an exceptional catch in the endzone. It was 3rd and long and we needed a first to wind down the clock. Endzone was open. Too close to punt, too far to kneel, and a field goal would have seemed more like tacking on IMO.

Play the what if game all you, it didn't happen, Carden was fine. What about the two rushing TD's? He could have been hurt on those plays as well. They were looking run, we threw a fade to the end zone, that play is design so Carden throws quickly. Half our O-line cut blocked on the play, no one was close to Carden. We called it and it worked.

You want to cry foul, first cause it was running up the score, now cause our QB could have been hurt. Glad we have our coaches and not you, we never win a game, your too scared to win big or risk injury. Injuries happen, Carden could've been hurt on at least 10 other plays, but he wasn't. End of story.

Whatever bro.

Believe you what you want. You missed the point. This isn't a what if kind of deal.

Injuries are a very real part of the game. Your coaches too a big chance. A huge risk for no reason. That's a fact. Was the risk worth it. Well, yeah cause you scored and no one got hurt, but that' doesn't make it smart particularly when the game was already decided.

Good luck with that.

Somebody could get hurt on a running play just as easily.

I don't think we were running up the score, but I wouldn't have a problem with it if we were. After all, their AD said they can't be worried about playing little ol' ECU because they are focused on winning ACC championships. I wish we'd beaten them by more after that remark.

Absolutely. That's a fair point, but Carden is much less likely to get injured handing off than dropping back to pass regardless of how quick he is supposed to get rid of the ball. All it takes is one missed assignment.

And he tossed it to a WR who has started seven of the past eight games. So, you risked two starters for what?

Hand it off to your third string running back and get out of there healthy. It's about risk management when the game has already been decided. IMO, the risk wasn't worth the reward but that's just me.

Congrats on the win.

Not even close, but a highlight worthy catch.

What about that attempt to run up the score. Nice job offense. Not so nice job defense allowing two scores under 2 min.

Are you talking about the garbage time tds against 2nd and 3rd stringers vs their 1st stringers? Quiet down little guy.

Please tell me more about how ECU should have burned a red shirt for garbage time.

Im confused as to why so many on this board are concerned with the health of our starting skill players. Call McNeill's decisions stupid if you want, but by looking at our record it seems like we're doing something right...

It's mind boggling how stupid a select few on this board really are.

Hey comedian, worry about your school and not what our coaches are doing. Carden could get hurt running out of the tunnel or celebrating one of his many touchdown passes. They will burn a redshirt when its necessary.

I'm the idiot and you all think its a good idea to put your starting QB at risk while you're trying to redshirt the backup.

You all are brilliant.

Comprehension is not your strong suit is it?

Let me try to type slower for you. The only person risking burning a redshirt was your coaching staff by having your QB passing when the game was over.

Apparently, this is all too complicated for ECU fans to comprehend.
