They are lucky if there are 500 in attendance, including the 2 football teams. Never in the worst days of UC football (late 80's early 90's) was there ever a crowd anywhere near that small.

Oxford is small. So small that thousands of students could literally walk from wherever they are in town to watch this game. This is quite sad.

Baketball is not much better, dropped a game to DIII Wilmington today.

I thought I read a while back that when attendence is this bad for Division 1 teams the NCAA monitors it and it has to be at a certain mark over a two year period (I think something like 14 K) or you could be subject to drop out of Division 1. Is this true?

It is one of those rules they don't enforce. Eastern Michigan has averaged less than 5K fans for the past three years. It has been a while since they have even put 10K butts in the seats let alone 15K. Miami U is likely safe unless there truly is a split.

Its sad to see what is happening in Oxford in basketball and football. It would be little more interesting for UC if they were not worst program in the nation.

It is sad. In the early/mid 70's, Miami was the number 1 "mid-major" football program in the nation. They have also produced some great basketball players as well; e.g., Ron Harper, Wally, etc.
