I suppose you were never hurt and had to miss games during your playing career? It is not a good thing, I hated it, and I know Banks hates it too.

Of course it is not a good thing for him. It is a good thing for our younger guys to get much needed reps. Banks won't be with us next year. Love him to death, but we need to be focused on the future.

Are we sure Banks is done? Was hoping to see him at UF.

Seemed to get to the edge and do a good job of containing the Gamecocks all game. Best plan is probably going to be to try and gouge them up the middle with Govan & Huggins as much and as often as possible. I think we can pound them in the gut like that over and over and maybe get them to relax on the edge. Containing their RB's is going to be challenge for us. IF... we can have some success doing that and get them into some 3 & outs early, then we might have a chance to play keep away a keep the game within striking distance. I will be making my 3rd trip to the Swamp, win or lose I will have a good time celebrating our last ever game as an FCS program.

We haven't been able to pound Socon teams up the middle. You're expecting us to do that to UF's DL?

We need to get them off balance outside and use their speed against them. It's easier to make teams like them overpursue outside because they're used to being able to close fast out there and we use their speed against them. They're also not used to having to think about who to attack either. It's the same formula we used against UGA and Bama and it worked early. Our only hope is to get some shots in early and get them uncomfortable. If we try to bang up the middle play after play it's going to be a long day for us.

Yea, outside is where the big plays need to come. But we had pretty good success up the middle against UGA and BAMA (and a potential big play there would be nice!). Granted, this isn't the same team we had the last two years.

It can be a "Chcken or the egg" kind of thing, but I believe that we need to establish the Fullback first. As always, we have to mix it in, but if the Read is there on the true 3-0 then we have got to let the FB get what he can up the middle. We need to keep them from selling out to the corners (and if they are doing that, our QB should be able to recognize it). They are very fast, and did a very good job outside against S.C. yesterday. Using their speed against them, by getting them to over pursue can be big - but doesn't help us a lot when they have four or five defenders who sell out to the edge from the word go. Ellison can make one miss, but I don't want to see a traffic jam of orange helmets out there. This has been a big issue for GT at times this season, and with a Freshman QB - that can get dangerous. Now I'd like nothing better than for them to "stay home" and cover the middle so the play can go outside early.

I think we have had some success up the middle. It will help if we have Banks back, but the other two guys have come along way. If we can just keep getting 3 yards up the gut we can keep the D watching the inside and hesitating to the corner. We might also be able to get them frustrated and pointing fingers at each other considering all the frustration they are felling on the season. IF they start to struggle against the one win they think they have left on the schedule.... they might lose their composure. Nothing is more frustrating to a defense than 3 1/2 yards/carry right up the middle. We can shorten the game this way with less chance of a turnover.

Hopefully we can run it both inside and out and keep them guessing. Would love to see us finally run this thing to perfection once this season. It will be a huge challenge.

Banks is done.

Well my Eagle brother.... What do you think about my proposed game plan now. And who was that guy losing his lunch after scoring a TD on Saturday? Just messing with you man.

Hey.. " IT's GREAT..... to BEAT.... The FLORIDA GATORS!" I said It's Great to BEAT the Florida Gators! Amazing that there were groups of their fans singing that their way after the game. We just sang along with them changing only that one word - and continued after they stopped. We had a blast in gator town Sat night! Cause their aint nothing like being an Eagle on Saturday Night! Trust me, myself and others were stunned to see him back playing. That kid played his tail off.

Banks might be the most underrated player on our roster in a very long time. That kid has played his butt off for us. Glad he had such a great game and was able to score a touchdown.

I was pretty accurate as well. We went outside a LOT, and we were running formations that spread the field out big time. Lining the WR's up outside the numbers was awesome.

I was shocked to see Banks back. He apparently passed all the concussion tests, but I would imagine he received some advice along the lines of it not being ideal for him to play again. I'm glad he got to have that strong finish though. That 3rd and 2 play he converted was one of the most important plays of the game.
