Not quite, the Rocket faithful can probably come up with a ticket for you.
Oh, but you could stay at home and watch UT on ESPNU.

No reason to call out bg for lack of attendance. UT won't do much better.

RE: Plenty of Parking
OK, a friend loaned us a lot 10 pass for last night. My gutt said I needed to enter campus by the rec center, but the buddy said "naw you can go in the main entrance, we do it all the time." I should have gone with my gutt, but the rent-a-cop security people at the Bancroft entrance were not letting people go through campus to lot 10. I questioned the ticket taker and she said, "sorry, I can't tell you why, I'm from Columbus."

Can anyone explain the dumb*** rationale for not letting cars through? They were making cars u-turn into a mass cluster-f$#k at the bottom of the hill coming in from Bancroft. You could only go left in to the garage or right into the lot behind the HHS building. The center lane couldn't go straight. Not being able to go straight caused more of a cluster as the drivers had to decide to u-turn, or go left or right, thus cutting off the drivers in the other lanes. The guy in front of me sat there for 5 minutes paralized, not knowing what do do and nobody helped stop other cars so he could get out. I did try to cut through the HHS lot (along with 5-6 other cars) to see if I could make it to the bridge, but again another rent-a-cop was blocking the route over the bridge. IMO it was causing more problems than it alleviated. I evetually gave up and just parked by HHS and as I was walking by the barracade by the bridge the securty guy let a car through, I questioned him and the guy said, that the unmarked car was "security." It may be this way every game but it was mass confusion for no reason.

Don't feel to bad, I was at lot 10 around 11:30am, the non travel players tried to park there for the walk thru and they refused to let them in either lot and told them they had to park in the parking garage. Great respect for our future guys. Hope they made it on time. Lot might have had 15 to 20 cars in it. Unbelievable UT can screw it up that bad

Plenty of Parking
Really makes no sense how they do things parking wise.

They only allow entering by the rec center for lot 10 but they have their security stop set up so closely to the light at Westwood that traffic frequently doesn't make it through the light (and this is when crowds haven't been big.). Can't imagine the horror if we had a large crowd.

They have cops standing around supposedly checking for correct passes before you turn into campus there but every single game without fail someone (or multiple people) end up getting through and are eventually forced to make U turns, holding up traffic and backing things up further.

The light at Westwood and campus there shouldn't even be operational at those times. With all of the folks crossing from the lot near the engineering building and traffic coming into campus, the cops should be in complete control of traffic mgmt there.

Within lot 10 it's a free for all. If they were halfway intelligent they would have a few people parking people in the lot from back to front as they arrived that way tailgates could be set up in the aisles as the aisles were full and you wouldn't have to worry about tents blocking open parking spots all over the lot.

I'm no logistical genius, but I'm fairly certain I could make the entrance and exit from campus much smoother if given about 10 minutes of discussion with someone who had authority to do so.

RE: Plenty of Parking
There has to be some rataional strategy for not allowing cars to pass through campus, but I'm not seeing it. Just think if it was a well attended game, it would have been a monster cluster-f$%k. Cars were U-turning in the mess, students were leaving campus, cars were trying to get into campus. I can see restricting sightseeing cars parading through campus for no reason, but if you have a lot 10 pass or lot 5 pass, why not let those cars through. If it's a matter of cars vs. pedestrians for safety reasons, there are sidewalks all the way through campus. IMO, it just falls into the "dumb rule for no reason" category.

I usually park behind Savage with my lot 3/4 pass, but having access to a lot 10 pass, I thought I'd try it, what a mistake. I should have just used my easy in, easy out pass for lot 3/4.

I have also wondered why in post game they usually let the lights do the work for fans leaving campus. There should be cops at Bancroft and Westwood holding up traffic and just let people stream out. I would alleviate a lot of mess. Even for basketball season.

Pales in comparison to the nightmares at the doyt from years past :)

On a serious note, there are few arenas, stadiums or venues that really do traffic management effectively.

I know...but it's a lesson you just need to learn and stop complaining about it. It happens everywhere. We went to the Navy game with a friend who had free tickets and a parking pass for Lot 10. I thought it was really screwy that they wound you around from the South...and then they had a sign to enter the drive closest to the stadium for Lot 10 parking, only to have the attendent tell us immediately that we needed to turn back around and enter the drive further to the North. Odd.

For me, I either arrive early or park in an alternative area (usually for free) and just walk a little, and then hang around for a few minutes after the event. That tends to solve all problems and relieves any stress.

RE: Plenty of Parking
You want screwy event parking-UF was one of the worst I've ever seen.
The ones that do it the best usually have some type of dedicated ramp system off a major thoroughfare.
