Georgia Southern will be fine it starts with recruiting and with the FBS carrot we will be sure to benefit like most other move ups and mid-major FBS teams.

They all acknowledge they got a break in scheduling not playing the Cajuns or ASU, and are hopeful that they can beat NMSU, Idaho, App, and Georgia State to get 4 conference wins.

None of those expectations are unrealistic.

The fans that we saw come in and decree total domination have most disappeared, yet we continue to blame this patch of posters for some reason. This is equivalent to claiming that all ASU fans are like Seminole Indian. If those posters show back up, by all means give them hell...but lets not take it out on the good fans.

Not a single person has said we will come in and dominate. Unfortunately, saying we will be competitive is translated into we will come in and dominate. The fact that we run the triple option will shorten the game which tends to keep you in more games. With that said, the optimistic view is 4-4 in conference which is reasonable considering we will be playing everyone except ULL and Ark St. I haven't seen anyone predict 6-2 or better, although that is possible if we are healthy and get some breaks.

App St, Georgia St, and Georgia Southern question

Well considering the one game our players played 100% in was against geo south, you saw how it went, that being said, when they won that game they remembered how much more fun Boone is for a team that wins even if there's nothing to really gain, so in the two games after I saw a lot more hardwork on the field and we still lost, granted one was Georgia, I agree that motivation isn't everything but it is something, I think you will see a hard fought game against Wofford but we will lose and a strong win against wcu from app

Thank you for that. Also for any of the folks complaining about Southern fans claiming domination please go back and find them. I have looked and can't seem to. I did see where someone saying we would be competitive in the Sun Belt got twisted by the other teams less friendly insecure posters as "we would dominate". Message board semantics aside, I think it will take probably at least three years at best to compete for the top spot. I will say more than any other team that has ever moved up from the FCS GaSou and App for that matter have earned the right to be optimistic. We were not some flash in the pan couple of year FCS success team or a insta FBS program that just made a pit stop in the FCS. The reasons for the sustained success at the FCS level does not disappear with the changing of one letter and will serve both programs well in the FBS. A lot of the things we have in place many move ups are still trying to working on a decade later and will never get. I am glad to be in the Sun Belt and looking forward for my alma mater helping it becoming stable and respected conference.

You've been dealing with them for seven months.

We've been dealing with them since they claimed we iced out field on purpose in the 87 playoffs.
