I hope we'd fire anybody who spoke to players like that. The language is terrible but the words aren't my concern here. You have lost your team, then thrown them under the bus. Gregg Brandon went down this road and was fired. English was gone and knew he was gone, the AD knew he was gone, the team knew he was gone and Kittonhead from the MAC board knew he was gone. But he finishes the season if he doesn't pull this stuff.

As I recall Bobby Knight and Woody Hayes's "eccentricities" tended to be overlooked for a long time so long as they were regularly challenging for national championships every year or so and it was only when their programs had slipped a notch or two that their respective institutions found their behavior to be unacceptable and grounds for dismissal.

Obviously English never had the luxury of having any success at EMU to speak of and thus had no such protective firewall.
