I remember traveling to MTSU many years ago and losing a playoff game on a last play field goal by MTSU. We enjoyed the trip and would certainly do it again. Fingers crossed.

I was there that day as well. Man it was cold and I seem to recall it was blowing snow at the end of the game.

Living in Virginia and knowing a few ODU grads, I'm excited about this one - it makes a lot of sense to play ODU. App fans travelled really well to the playoff game in Richmond a few years back, and I'd expect us to travel well to Hampton Roads as well.

Yes, the ODU series is a good fit. I can't wait to see who else we will have to fill the schedules out...

I would like MTSU or WKU.
Do not want Marshall or UNCc.

Does it hurt more to never be in a game or to see a win slip from your fingers?

It hurts but the closeness of the losses keeps us hungry. When you get beat and not just lose the game that's what I consider demoralizing.

That's true but I remember that game like it was yesterday and it wasn't fun at all - especially as I watched the last seconds tick off realizing ODU wouldn't win a championship. That was the demoralizing part, not the actual the game, but realizing it was the end of the FCS title hopes.

So close to actually winning, but just couldn't stop that offense.

Unless App rolls out the triple option ODU (particularly the defense) will be competitive, and considering we will have a Heinicke clone at QB I'm fairly confident to say it could be 2 victories!

Of course, anything can happen!

It could be two victories or two losses that is true.

We're still looking for our AE clone, odds are neither will find one like the other for awhile, truly two special players.

From what I've seen you have a great QB in Kam Bryant. Not as versatile as AE but has a great pocket presence.

Kam is a good accurate QB and can make any throw under 20 yards. What he lacks is throwing a good deep ball. No one runs like AE though.

Still think Taylor Lamb, Bobby Lamb the coach at Mercer's son, may be our QB next year, especially for the long ball
down the field. Of course he may not be as good as one hopefully coming in next year, but he has had a red shirt year
to learn the offense.

This should be the last time for the forseeable future that we have 2 FCS schools on the schedule. The CUSA team to be named later will come to Boone in 2015 and I would assume the other home OOC in 2015 will be FCS.

App will play at USM in 2014, with a return trip to Boone in 2015. Southern Miss will be the first OOC FBS home game for us.

Interestingly, both of our stadiums are nicknamed "The Rock"

Love to see this. Can't wait to make the trip to Boone to Cheer on the Flames! Been a while since I've been there, but love that place.

ASU Fans: Do we know if Troy is playing in Boone or in Troy in 2014? Same question to any GS fans.

Thanks T-Dog. I see five to seven very winnable games. Hopefully you pull out a few more your first year in the SBC and make it to a bowl.
