Pitt got an honorable mention...

1. West Virginia 10/1
Nucleus returns intact. Lethal offense, coupled with easy schedule, has expectations sky-high in Morgantown.

11. Virginia Tech 50/1

Vick's dismissal could be addition by subtraction.

12. Miami 15/1

Could Larry Coker be on the hot seat even though he has a 53-9 career record?

14. Louisville 35/1

If Brian Brohm is fully recovered from an ACL tear, Cards are probably a top-10 team.

15. Boston College 100/1

Legit ACC contender.

Now if the Big East would have been provactive earlier this decade it could have became one of the Top 3 BCS leagues in the nation.

Miami
Virginia Tech
Boston College
WVU
Pitt
Syracuse
UConn
Rutgers
Louisville
Cincinnati

All of those teams except Louisville and Miami were part of the Old Eastern Indys. Louisville and Miami were lumped with the Southern Indys but Miami is Miami and that city has more in common with the Northeast will their transplants then they do with the rest of the South. Louisville is only 90 miles away from Cincinnati and is on the fringe of Eastern Football.

Now if you want to go to 12 and have a Championship Game you can always have USF and Temple IF you could not get Penn State.

They got it wrong though. Miami won't end up 12th and Louisville won't end up 14th because the Cards will blow the Canes away at Papa John's. 05-mafia

The reason the Big East NEVER can be proactive because we are a hybrid conference. Just like now we can?t do a damn thing until we form our own league.

The reason the BEast won't do anything is because basketball interests drive the conference agenda. I say boot the catholics and create a true all sports conference.
