7-5 would be a good run for us this season.

I'm pretty sure that would put you guys in a bowl. Congrats on a thrilling game and win.

I'd love nothing more than to see TxState go to a bowl their first year in the SBC, but what bowl would it be? I don't know if there'll be enough slots this year and with teams like the Cajuns, stAte, Troy, and perhaps ULM at the top of the heap at the end of the year, seems to make it all the more difficult.

I'm open to hearing some ideas though.

If Texas State was to win out and finish 9-3 they would get the Go Daddy spot.

Well, yeah, but what are the odds? They've struggled to win at home and have two huge road games ahead, stAte and Troy. A 9-3 finish would be close to a miracle and yes, they'd deserve a bowl IMHO. Short of that, I think the numbers are against them.

I didn't say the odds were good. I just was pointing out that I think if anyone gets to 8 wins, they'll get the Go Daddy spot.

And one team we're not noticing too much is ULM. Browing is back and so are they.

I haven't forgotten them. ULM and Troy will be our biggest challenges but we have the advantage of playing them at home. I'm not concerned one bit about USA.

I definitely see Troy as the Cajuns' biggest risk at the moment.

When was the last time ULM beat us? I want to say their seniors have never beat the Cajuns. They will be ready to rock when they come down.

The only reason I'm more worried about Troy is because their game is closer. Once that one's past, I'll crank it up with ULM.03-lmfao

Troy will play ULM in 5 days in another very physical game after playing WKU today. UL will play NMST next Saturday and play Troy on a short week at home. Who would you rather be? UL needs to stay healthy period.

I think if Go Daddy has the option between say stAte and Texas State as options (assuming both end up at... 8-4), stAte gets the nod.

Only way we make a bowl this year is if we are in sole position of second in conference, which means big wins over Troy and stAte. Not likely, but the team is capable of doing it.

Of course, we are just as likely to go 0-4 the rest of the way out.

Good game Texas State, you guys have put a hurt on us getting bowl eligible and conference goals are looking worse. We are 3-4 now, 3 of our losses coming in the last minute of play, that hurts, hurts a lot.03-banghead

Don't hurt too bad. We were nearly hurting even worse after giving you the lead for the first time the entire game with just 1:32 left. Especially after we felt like we had put the game away with under 7 minutes left when we took that 10 point lead and had all the momentum. Sorry but I don't see it as y'all losing a game in the last minute (even though that's what happened) but more of a we almost lost a game we had all but locked up even with just 2:02 left in the game when y'all started your last drive. That doesn't take away from the hell of a game y'all played and I give y'all huge respect for never giving up. Good game and I look forward to playing again next year.
