I wouldn't be so sure about that. USA is exactly the type of team that can defeat the Cajuns. These guys are flat out dangerous, they NEVER give up.

Danny Woodson was one hell of a get by the Jags.

I have watched many SBC games on ESPN3 or TV and I will say one thing-- there is no predicting SBC games. The games are very entertaining and no one knows what might happen.

Not to make this into the "participation society" but your team deserves congrats for a hard fought game that they never quit in and put on one truly exciting game. Plus, you have some serious talent on that team that bodes well for you (not so good for the rest of the league) the rest of the season and into next year.

But the Jags DO deserve congrats. It's tough to win on the road but those kids will not fold regardless. They believe in their hearts that the game is theirs for the taking. They've sure earned my respect.

Looking ahead, it should be fun next year when Brandon Bridge has Danny Woodson and Marvin Shinn (his former 4 star teammate at Alabama) to throw to. Throw in some good redshirt Sophomore linemen and the offense should be sick.

Now about that defense...

1st we have the right to be cocky.
2nd your team played a heck of a ball game. This was the best game I saw today. They deserve to be praised for the way they played.

The Cajuns can be cocky when they've got a conference title in their back pockets. That's far from the case at the moment.

Hats off to both teams tonight.

1st, pull the stick out of your ass. Pretty sure it was just some light hearted smack. A bit testy lately, huh?

2nd, no harm in telling your team congrats. They played hard and have in every game they've been in. Why do you feel the need to be so confrontational?

I'm tired of the superiority complex a lot of Cajuns have been showing. I'm not confrontational, just calling it like it is. Why does Lousiana smack belong in a thread about South Alabama and Texas State? It doesn't. Get over yourselves. I stand by my comments. Act like you've been there before...

6 of our 7 games came down to the last seconds and we lost 4 of them. It's frustrating. We don't need Cajuns talking about how they will beat us badly right after a loss. Have some class. You can say good game, etc... But congrats we don't deserve until we can win those close games.

^this^......though I still have to tip my hat to any team that never gives up, regardless of whether they lose in the end or not. A lot of teams better than USA will fold before the end of the game. You guys never quit.

I'm with you on that. We are a 100% you betcha, live, legitimate FBS team. We shouldn't give excuses like we're new when we let our third lead held in the last minute slip away in one season. Somebody needs to figure out how to step up in the last minute on defense. I expect USA to beat Troy and Texas State, even on the road (we were favorites). I expect them to be able to hold a lead as well. Others should too.

That being said, I went to the game in San Marcos. It was remarkably well played, without the usual stupid penalties and turnovers (both teams got TD's off ints though). By the way, that's a really nice stadium you have there.

That loss really put our bowl chances in doubt. But until proven otherwise, I'm not sure anyone is going to lay a "beat down" on USA this year.

Your a young program grasshopper, soon (Hopefully after we play you) you will be winning those close games. There is nothing wrong with fans from other teams congratulating the effort your team made. I see we play you guys at the end of the season. We should have a NOLA Bowl invite by then and you guys will not have much to play for but knocking off the conference champions. We play you at home. Hud is a awesome coach and a great motivator but him and the players are only human. If this game is indeed a meaningless game for us, I smell an upset. Have a great week and best of luck next weekend.
