MM said that he was going to call plays in 2010, and it lasted about 2 games and it went right back to Durden. Blaming MM for play calling is the wrong thing to do here. He is however Head Coach, so his staff is his outreach to Offense and Defense. My source tells me he monitors both side of the ball, and basically lets them run the show on game day. I think yesterday while watching on TRIBE TV, I saw a QB that isn't really mature, made a lot of mistakes looking for open receivers, held the ball too long and cost us long 2nd and 3rd down conversions. The QB coach has got to get it through to Birdsong he has to get rid of the ball, use a down, not cause us to have 2 and 15 or 3rd and 25. Running out of the pocket could cost us a semi experienced QB and throw a untried QB into the mix.
Bad judgement calls from the QB that has to be addressed or we will see this repeated for the next 4 games. A couple of those teams left will have us for lunch and spit us out if we don't get a grasp on basic QB techniques.

Did you happen to see the offensive line that gave zero holes for our RB's and very little in terms of pass protection? I'm not arguing that Birdsong should get rid of the ball or make much better throws, but I think the woes yesterday were more due to the ineptness of our offensive line than our QB.

And I can tell you from a very reliable source that MM most certainly DID call plays and/or overrule plays as they were called in. There are a couple of people on this board that know me and know who my source is, and I doubt you'll get much closer to the play calling short of the OC. I do NOT know if that is true this year, but it was DEFINITELY true from 2010 through last year. I could give you specific examples, but it would make you throw up.

Most overused and overvalued word on this message board, even when it makes the point I want to hear.

Btw, thanks to The Purple Wave, Duke Dawg, and the rest of your group for entertaining my in-laws during the game with your in-game commentary. They were cracking up at dinner over some of the things you guys said during the game. Helped make a terrible game to watch slightly more bearable. Oh, and their last name is Parr, so their ears perked up when someone said your name.

That's really the only thing I have to add to this thread. I really don't wanna say anything else.

OK, so you are not as smart as a couple of dogs. Make mine Maker's Mark (try saying that fast five times)! Sorry about your inability to predict the outcome of a football game.

The game changing pick-6 was almost not to be. It looks like the tacky gloves kept the point from slipping through his hands.03-puke

First of all you predicted they would win by a touchdown which they did not, so technically you are bragging about a close prediction, not a correct one. I also see you conveniently quoted yourself this one week, and not any other week this year, why is that? Back to Zimas for you, I'll save the Makers for when you find some more consistency in your predictions04-cheers

Glad we entertained. I wish they would have said something about the common last name. Or perhaps they did and that guy who over served me is to blame for my short term memory loss. I just hope we kept it clean.
