Yes, much more so than FIU, FAU, and UNT.

No argument from anyone.

Those three were dead weight IMO.

UNT was a loss too. They have a really good all-around athletic department and with a new coach and new stadium, have the potential to become what they were in football.

UNT was consistently with WKU and MTSU at the top of the Bubbas Cup standings.

Florida twins were the dead weight and somewhat out of place. Went to our game with FAU last year at their place. New stadium with about 9K there. They had about 30 recruits there as well and I wondered what they thought about that crowd. UNT was a bad loss for the Belt. They do have a good overall athletic program, large student body and a great fit geographically. They have a good tradition in football too, just fell on some lean years.

.
Let's trade FIU & FAU from CUSA for ASU & ULL 04-rock
Sounds good to me.

Can you imagine what the SBC would be like if WKU MTSU and NT all stayed. I think those 3 teams will dominate CUSA.. just shows how much better the SBC was/ is..

When you have a conf where the top teams are very good and the bottom teams are very bad it makes the whole conf seem better because the top teams go undefeated.
Look at Northern Ill and Ball State, look at who they played so far.. Look at how high they are rated.

I think that is key for the SBC. You need a team to pull a Boise/NIU - dominate the conference one season, and win a couple high profile OOC games - the respect will trickle down.

Right now the SBC has a good grouping of solid, but not spectacular teams, most that are capable of beating each other. Which is great for a exciting conference season, but does nothing to elevate the conference as a whole in the eyes of the rest of the nation.

They had a good tradition in the 1970's with Hayden Fry. Otherwise, not really. In the '80's, they won one co-SLC championship and one outright in the '90's. Those, along with two at-large appearances, put them in the 1-AA playoffs four times, where they went a combined 0-4. They have had nine winning seasons in the last 32, of which four wouldn't have been above .500 had a win been a loss. They did win the New Orleans Bowl once in four tries. That one win was their first postseason win of any kind since the 1946 Optimist Bowl. One of their NOB appearances came with a losing overall record. All time, they are 345-380-16, counting this year.

They have promise, but they don't have much of a winning tradition.

Why trade now, your school is the one that jumped conference into that shipwreck. Have fun swimming to shore.

If you look ahead to hoops, these two might be the best thing to ever happen to C-USA. But SBC hoops are getting some good buzz this year. Is it too late for WKU to stick around?

Yah CUSA made a mistake with FIU FAU imho. I don't see either school accomplishing much. UNT/WKU/MTSU/LaTech much better grabs.

ODU has be disappointing me in fb.

The reasoning for them was sound; its Florida after all. The thing is, sometimes things aren't as they seem. Those schools will always struggle scrapping together the crumbs from major in-state schools, major out-of-state schools, not quite as major schools in and out of state, and then them.

You have UF, FSU, UCF, South Florida, AND Miami all beating them for recruits. Hotbed or not, that is INSANE competition. And then you split the left overs TWICE between FIU and FAU.

They should've picked just one and then the other would've died off.
