Easy solution.

1. Play better teams in OOC like Oregon
2. Stop giving me mother(*)*)()* parking tickets!
3. Do something about the traffic because getting back to Birmingham right after a game takes long
4. Charge more money for tickets to eliminate some of these people who have never gone to UA in their life.

I'm not sitting in the cold and getting stuck in traffic to watch a blowout because Nick Saban wants me to.

I actually lived on campus about a block from Bryant-Denny Stadium when I was a student (New Hall, now the site of the new Delta Delta Delta house). Dumping the bulk of what was then "only" 83,000 people onto Colonial Drive (there was no Walk of Champions at the time) was bad enough then.

When Tutwiler gets imploded in the next few years, the University really ought to invest in a parking garage for the students who will live in whatever dorm replaces it, and preserve some of the surface lot for commuter students during the week and football fans on game weekends. Funnel the traffic onto 10th Avenue and let them get to I-20/59 or US 11 that way.

There are plans for a parking garage south of where New Hall, Byrd Hall, and Parker-Adams Hall used to be, although UA is supposed to put a sorority house where Barnwell Hall is now.

They are going to demolish Tutwiler?

They won't be solving the parking problem anytime soon as long as they oversell parking permits like they did when I was there.

The only answer is to not allow freshmen to drive.

Students should be able to walk to the game, unless they're handicapped. It's not like Alabama's stadium is on a mountain top...

The demolition of Tutwiler has been rumored for several years, and talk of it picked up after Rose Towers (basically the same design) was demolished. UA does have on its campus plan that it submitted to ACHE to spend $1.2 Million on new elevators for Tutwiler in the 2014-2015 fiscal year, but at some point maintenance requests like that are going to no longer be viable.

Palmer Hall and Somerville Hall are scheduled to be demolished that fiscal year as well.

I just saw they canned block seating for many of the Greeks. Even as an ex frat member at Alabama I think that was a good move. It was always embarrassing to have our pledges there and the whole area empty with 20 minutes until kickoff while the student section had been filled to over-capacity for the last hour and a half.

well, they are up 21-0 right now and guess everything will be put to the test in a few hours..

I have noticed what appears to be swarms of gnats both near the ground and towards the top of the stadium - maybe time to give Bryant-Denny a good spraying?

It's because Tennessee is in town.

Bama has suspended reserved seating for a bunch of frats and sororities, who apparently are the biggest problem. You know, the Greeks who in their Sunday best attire show up midway through the first quarter to be seen and then leave after the third quarter.

ETA -- whoops, HeartofDixie, I didn't see your post on the last page, thought I scrolled through them all.

I'm glad to know that my fraternity has been suspended from block seating.

For the record, nobody ever showed up halfway through the first quarter the whole time I was there.

This is seriously ridiculous that you pay all this money to go to school and get bossed around about when you choose to leave a sporting event. Greeks leave at halftime so they can get the parties ready for all those drunken idiots and students who leave the game. I remember when I was pledging we had to leave by the third quarter or else people would be gathering outside before we even got back to the house.

Nick saban should pay Attention to his players not the fans.
I doubt people will be leaving early in close games. But when your watching someone get beat by 45 points maybe there are other things to do.
Since when has coach been in charge of fans. 90 thousand fans go a long way toward paying his salary. Maybe he should just turn around and go back to watching the game.
