ECU & Marshall have a long and significant history together. Lately, there has been a lot of chest pounding by both fan-bases. This is in part because both teams are pretty good this year and also because ECU is leaving C-USA.

I actually think that this increase in intensity can benefit the rivalry (if it continues) but there's no need to take it overboard. Both ECU & Marshall have quality programs with great history & tradition. I'm of the opinion that ECU should try to periodically schedule both Marshall & USM moving forward because history & tradition matters to me.

This year's matchup looks to be epic because it will likely be for the division but also because both teams are better than they've been in years and this could be the last chance to claim bragging rights for the foreseeable future. So, here's to both teams and their rich history together & hopefully both schools will find a way to continue the series & find away to continue to improve their respective programs!
