Tulsa over TUlane is not an upset. We haven't beat them since 1968.

Yeah it's hard to call the favorite in a game as an upset.

Using that same logic, UAB is a favorite over UTSA.

I predicted Tulane would win 31-21 on a different website, and I'll stand by that forecast here, but I admit Tulsa could win just as easily. I think the teams are very evenly matched (not at each match-up, but overall).

I will say this, though: if Tulane does lose, it won't be because we're "overconfident" or looking ahead past the next four (!!) oppenents. Tulsa has beaten us 8 years in a row -- not just beaten us but Crushed us all 8 times we've played them since Katrina. I don't think it's possible for us to overlook them or take them lightly. It is very possible that they are still better than us, and kick our ass again. I honestly don't think it will go like that, but of course it could.

Q: is Tulsa starting the freshman QB?

The past doesn't mean a thing anymore.

If Tulane were to play Southern Miss on Saturday, the books would likely favor us by two touchdowns. Southern Miss leads the series 23-7 - but Vegas already knows that it has no bearing on this game.

Tulane have already sprung a few upsets as a 10-13 point underdog (ULM, UNT, and ECU all fit this category).

Tulsa is favored over Tulane because they have the talent to win AND have played a much tougher schedule than Tulane (battle-tested vs. untested). Tulsa is not 2-4 bad, and Tulane is not exactly 5-2 good.

I expect the line to rise a little as it looks like Montana may be held out again.

Wow, I hadn't heard that. Is that from CJ's press conference?

I thought it was -13, I must have mixed it up with the ECU line in my head.

I'm rooting for Tulane. It took me a few days to get over ECU's loss to Tulane but I always root for once proud programs who have been down to get back to where they once were. Tulane has a chance at a pretty special season and you Tulane fans who stuck it out through the lean years deserve it.

Nothing against Tulsa. They have had some great seasons lately.

Yes, I believe his exact quote was "I don't know if he'll play."

Is this comment really necessary? Don't pull a SJ. If read closer you will see that some UAB and North Texas fan pick MT as an upset. Don't turn this thread into a pissing match. But wait Marshall fans don't do that.

Learn to lighten up. That was for 200 and PirateMarv who pick Marshall to lose every week.

I haven't picked you to lose every week. I did pick Marshall to lose by two last week and I remember receiving a pretty confident reply from you that Marshall would win comfortably... Something involving a $1000 bet if I gave you two points. I'm sure you are glad I'm not a betting man otherwise you would be paying up.

Well after watching this, I'm certain that we will pull the upset:

You don't understand betting. If you would have given me 2 points that means I would have won the bet by 3 points since Marshall won straight up by 1. You would have owed me the $1,000.

RE: So who will be this week's upset?
Tulane will beat Tulsa and IMO tulane should be favored

Mtsu has a chance at the upset this week. Mtsu will be hungry after losing three straight and playing at home after a bye week. They have a preety good d that is extremely physical and will give Marshall's offense all they can handle. The key to the upset will be the offenses ability to put up some points and eat some clock. Most likely will just be a very ugly and frustrating win for marshall but we will see Thursday

You arevright. In my rushed posting times I not only stated the spread wrong, but also mistook what younposted last week. I had called the game at FAU by 2 and you responded by saying you would put a grand on the line If I gave you 2 points. I misread it as saying you wanted marshall and two points and not that you were just offering to call my bet of FAU -2. Either way your ******* was puckered all game and yet you couldn't fathom that somone would be willing to call as a 2 point win for FAU which is almost exactly how it ended.
