Lived all my life in Miami. Hence, I grew up a canes fan. After attending FIU I simply fell in love with my school and now bleed blue and gold. I still follow the canes occasionally

I used to manage a sports memorabilia store and we loved it when house divided couples would come shopping. We could usually get them to escalate their spree into a regular arms race . Christmas was fun too because they would be shopping for items of the team they hated and would either talk trash about their spouse's team, or almost have to . Either way, we made out .

I married a chapel hill alum, but like most she's not a fan until they do well. I don't hear from her much during football season.
I've taken her to basketball games for 20 years, but I think football has turned her into as big a Charlotte sports fan as she is going to be. She looks fantastic in her Charlotte gear.

In retro, it's an experience seldom obtained that I would like to have had be a more memorable part of my life's time line. Alas, it was not meant to be...But that is fine with me...Those of you who have a mate/spouse that is as much of a sports nut as you , I consider you to be very , very fortunate.
My wife and I both root for the Miners and she's also a 'boys fan so I have the best of both worlds.
When I was dating my wife I once asked her if she wanted to head over to Ruidoso for the weekend and she said, "are you crazy the nfl playoffs start this weekend". THAT'S when I knew I had to marry her.

They tell everyone that they've bonded over 25 years of marriage on their mutual hatred of A&M. Rice was the only school in the state that I could have gone to without at least one of them disowning me... good thing it was the one I wanted to go to!
I guess it comes from growing up in a divided household, but I can't understand people who hold strong allegiances to anywhere but their alma mater.
