I think its all moot. Unlikely we have any more than 2 unbeaten teams at the end in the BCS conferences (Fresno and NIU might add to the total, but they aren't factors for #1 or #2).

2004 was the last time the P5 had 3 unbeaten. 2009 there were 3 including the Big East. The rest of the years the BCS conferences had 0, 1 or 2. And this time the last 3 years:
2012 11 unbeaten-finished December with 2, 1 BCS
2011 8 unbeaten-finished December with 1, 1 BCS
2010 10 unbeaten-finished December with 3, 2 BCS

We have 10 unbeaten now. If Missouri runs the table, the odds are heavily that there is no more than one other BCS unbeaten.

Possible, but given their struggle with KSU, they may in fact win still win out but its also likey that their November wins wont be as impressive since all their difficult games are back loaded at the end of the schedule so those wins wont be as visually impressive with a lot closer scores.

And then again, the KSU game could have been an aberration. We shall find out soon enough...

I think Nebraska will get Ohio State in the CCG. I think Oregon might run the table if they can get by Stanford. I think Baylor has the best shot in the Big 12. I think Alabama has the best shot in the SEC and F.S.U. in the ACC.

In the end Bullet your assessment and the history it is built upon will likely hold true again. I see no more than 3 unbeaten P5 teams and high degree of likelihood there will only be 1 or 2. And even none is a very distinct possibility. Most of the schedules (not all) are back-loaded with difficulty and rivals. There will be more upsets.
