Missouri St. students approve fee to enlarge FB stadium
Could this be the first step in Missouri St. moving up? Football stadium enlargement to be completed by 2014 season. I think it is supposed to add about 5,000 seats.

I wonder if this is a prelude to them possibly joining the SunBelt.

What would that bring the total up to?

Their website lists capacity at 16,300 so with expansion I would assume it would hold around 21,000

This was one of the stumbling blocks to them moving FBS.

We need our Missouri State poster to let us know exactly what they need to do to get ready for any move. As for which league, it depends on what happens with JMU.

Sounds like their administration is getting serious about moving up. This sounds very good in terms of them becoming the 12th member.

I actually do think JMU will get the first shot as they would provide a reasonable traveling partner for Appalachian. But it seems to me that Missouri State is certainly upgrading facilities with the idea of moving up. We could take both of them.

I am sure they are both being told first one ready gets the last bid, don't miss out.

I don't know, as Arkstfan mentioned one possibility is adding both of them and then working out a deal with the MAC to take Idaho. That way both leagues have an even number.

Ha, I doubt the MAC would let us take the two gems and dump the leftovers on them.

I continue to believe the SBC will have some announcement in the Spring before the June 1 deadline of at least 1 new addition.

At the end of the day, I doubt both JMU and MoSt are dumb enough to not move FBS. So yes, something will happen.

Benson is going to use his mind control powers on them.

Taking both would result in uneven divisions.

I don't see that happening.

I would agree 13 teams would not be ideal, but if Missouri St and JMU are ready to move to the SBC I could see the conference taking both, especially with the incessant comments by Louisiana people that they want out of the SBC to CUSA. Who knows if that will happen or not but to have 13 gives the SBC the ability to absorb 1 more defection.

My hope is that they do take both and that they vote out Idaho.

Let's be fair... Everyone wants out of the Sun Belt.

As for voting Idaho out solely because they are the geographic outlier... That just isn't going to happen.

13 for a year or two would not be a bad idea if you were sure that CUSA was going to nab someone once the TV deals were renegotiated.

The only reason some want out is because of the Prisoner's Dilemma of others wanting out.
