Historically speaking realignment goes like this.
Big Boys make moves.
Not so big boys react.
Things act settled down.
The not so big boys look around and don't like the moves they made in haste and the process resumes for another round.

I can see an example of where the Big Boys looked around the second time with the Airport 5 driven MWC formation and CUSA inviting TCU from the WAC. That move ultimately led to the demise of the Big West conference with Boise getting a seat at the WAC table.

If the MVC could add Ark State, Texas State, NIU, Ball St, WMU, CMU, Miami, Toledo and upgrade Indiana St, Illinois St, Northern Iowa and Missouri State like you are talking about it could be nice for the schools involved.

The remaining MAC schools (EMU, BG, KSU, Akron, Ohio, Buffalo, UMass) would only have to add 5 to get back to a championship game.....JMU, App State, G.S, Georgia State, South Alabama. Troy and ULM are screwed here and of course NMSU/Idaho. It would be more attractive than the current SBC setup for JMU that is for sure. I do think it makes a lot of sense for the SBC East and MAC East to align themselves together in a doomsday scenario.

Some good ideas and it it sounds like what the Big East did with starting a football conference back in the early 90's albeit on a smaller scale.

Just glanced through this thread but there is zero chance of the MVC weaken their brand "basketball" by adding half of the SBC and MAC even for the football side. Just not going to happen.

Let us not forget that you could pick 2 schools out of the MVC and add what those 2 pays their coach and it would be enough to cover the whole SBC basketball coaches....add another it would cover the MAC also.

As to the fool that ask what does Charlotte and Old Dominion bring.....

A NCAA F4 in men basketball for Charlotte along with 11 other NCAA Tournament bids in 41 years

Old Dominion brings one of the best (historically) lady basketball programs with a number of F4's along with 11 NCAA Tournament bids in 37 years on the men side

YES. This administration couldn't be more serious about football right now.

You can see the ground work being laid and the plan that our president had laid out to donors in a closed-door meeting last spring is coming together exactly like he had planned (with the end-all goal of that, 'reportedly,' being a move to FBS in 5 years).

Good to hear. Missouri State is probably the one FCS option not named JMU that our presidents would all agree on.

Really? So what happens if the new governance structure ends up being the proposal for FBS to make its own rules and the rest of Division I have their own as well. When the stiped ends up being adopted by the FBS and the rest of Division I chooses to not offer it, MVC's brand is weakened because the FBS schools can offer $2k more in aid than the MVC.

If you are a huge fan of the way UCA designs things, I would go bottom left.

If any of those are used on their new stadium, I retract my support for the addition of Missouri State.

That, and a quarter will NOT get you a cup of coffee though.

Though I will say the middle column 3rd from the top isn't too bad. Needs clear lines for the yard markers though.

I like third from the top, far right. The giant bear head.

Our former president was the one who came up with the idea for the blue field at Boise. Wanted to do a maroon field but it would have faded into pink.

In all fairness, we have maroon endzones and they're still the same shade of maroon today that they were 8-years ago.

I wonder if this is a prelude to them possibly joining the SunBelt.
