Like the Eers, the Cards usually have trouble playing smash-mouth football teams.
Storm Johnson is as smash-mouth as they come. And his back-up is good as well.
The Knights are for real this year. They beat PSU and played a ranked USC tough.
Congrats to the Knights.
Cheers,
Neil

Could come down to a 3 way tie between Louisville, UCF, and Rutgers.
Louisville should have the edge in that scenario since they will likely be higher ranked than the other two.
But a long way to go.

So Rutgers has to beat UCF and they all win out or UCF lose 2 conference games.
The Rutgers @ UCF game is on Thursday night, Nov 21 7:30 PM ET. That'll be a Thursday night treat to watch. Hopefully like last night and tonight.
Not much left on the Schedule for the Knights:
0-5 Sat, Oct 26 vs Connecticut
5-0 Sat, Nov 9 vs Houston
0-6 Sat, Nov 16 @ Temple
4-2 Thu, Nov 21 vs Rutgers
2-4 Fri, Nov 29 vs South Florida
1-4 Sat, Dec 7 @ SMU
Houston, Rutgers and 4 bad teams.

You're most likely right but that's a terrible...opinion/fact/compliment(?).
One of those backhanded compliments.

Yes. But it's neither backhanded or a compliment, which makes it weird.
---------
Rutgers ain't winning jack. Their qb isn't good. It'll be UCF or UL if UCF stumbles.
---------
To be fair, UL played against a smash mouth UF last year and beat them. But UF turned it over every other possession which, well, kind of helped.

Louisville schedule got the best of them tonight, this is what I was afraid of in this lame duck season. Not physically but mentally, our players got big headed. Iam not trying to take anything away from UCF but this is the worst our defense has played all year. When we came out in the second half we acted as if we already had won the game.

Yep. We'll probably move up a couple of spots, depending on who loses ahead of us.

What? The worst your defense has played all year is against the best team you played all year?
OMG, the horror!

RE: Open Thread - Week 8
The reality is UCF is a very good football program, just ask Penn State and South Carolina... The Knights already receive Top 25 votes. The American is no super conference, but it has some solid programs at the top...
UCF is 5-1 with its only loss by 3 to South Carolina with ROAD wins over Penn State and Louisville.
Louisville is 6-1 with its only loss by 3 to UCF
Houston is undefeated - plays BYU today, win and they will be taken seriously in the top 25 voting.
Rutgers is 4-2 with its losses both to ranked opponents Louisville and by one in OT to Fresno State.

Pretty sure confusing USC-East with Clemson is a capital offense around here.

LOL whoops (fixed it)... I intern across the border in SC in an office with a bunch of Clemson fans and had them on the brain... my IQ drops every time I cross the damn border and they're two programs I really don't follow one bit. lol

RE: Open Thread - Week 8
Those Syracuse uniforms looks very un-Cuse-like. I'm hoping GT wins just so the new schools can discover that PJ offense isn't a joke. I thought it was a joke until we'd lost to it twice (Once was considered a fluke).
Edit : GT up 14-0, about 120 rushing yards in the first quarter. Cuse defense getting tired from being on the field all game.

They seem to be well on their way. It takes a herculean effort to make GT look like they are competent at blocking ... but Cuse is up to the job so far.
For Cuse or Pitt to appreciate the spread option, they have to suffer a quarter killing 8+ minute death march.

Well that was 6+ minutes on that one. Close but not killing. Not yet...

You put Joe Biden in your PSA ad, Cuse?
You're trying to recruit people with that right?

RE: Open Thread - Week 8
This is an indictment of either Syracuse coaching or personnel. When the dive is there all day long your defense is doing it wrong. This is showing the gaping chasm between Cuse and Miami/VT/BYU on defense. And offense for that matter.

Somebody give the ACC Network main play by play guy some contacts. He's been wildly off on where carriers are and where the first down lines are.

RE: Open Thread - Week 8
A lot of second and short and third and short for GT. Cuse is playing right into GT's hands. Looking at GT's future schedule, if they beat Cuse, UVA and Alabama A&M they'll have to beat one of Clemson, Pitt or UGA to go bowling. Hopefully PJ can get his 7th win so he can stick around a few more years.
edit : 21-0 GT
