reed coming back is one of the most amazing things i've ever seen just because of the history. the bashing.

and then back to the exact same school. a palindrome of college hoops sojourning.

it really speaks to how desparate brady is this year. imo.

We needed a guard for one year to replace Finn thanks to a couple of weak recruiting years in terms of guard play. If you've got a kid who you know averaged 14 a game in the SBC a few years earlier, then you take the 1 year risk.

Who is Reed playing for now?

He played for ASU his Freshman season, averaged 14 or 15 PPG and made some Freshman All America lists. That offseason he transferred saying originally that his grandmother was sick, but his family made it very clear that it was because they didn't think he would make the NBA out of ASU. They bashed the school pretty hard.

After two seasons and a redshirt sitting on the Georgia Tech bench, he transferred back to ASU this Summer and will play out his final season this year where he started.

Wow. So how many years of eligibility did he have total? Sounds like he has had to sit out at least two years - that doesn't seem good for his NBA chances.

Sorry 'beed. Missed your post before posting my question.

Also still learning by SBCisms...so wouldn't have known what you meant by palindrome anyway.

This is his 4th playing year, and he's been in college 5.

Season 1: ASU
Season 2: Transfer to GT/Redshirt
Season 3: GT
Season 4: GT
Season 5: ASU

He graduated from GT, so he gets a free transfer.

Ah...I see this must be under the "grad school" exemption or whatever. Interesting story though.

That's Arkansas...not ASU.

I don't think he is here for a grad school program to my knowledge.
