Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former Nebraska coach Tom Osborne and College Football Hall of Fame quarterback Archie Manning are among the 13 people who will be part of the College Football Playoff selection committee in 2014.

The committee members were officially unveiled Wednesday, though the names had been reported last week by The Associated Press and other media outlets. Earlier this week, Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long was announced as the chairman of the first selection committee for the new postseason system that replaces the Bowl Championship Series next year.

Take a look at the selection chair again. This is the same guy a few weeks ago who famously quipped that all ASU grads were Razorback fans anyway. Some time before that he called Arkansas the only FBS school in the state.

Even if we ever came close to making the top 4, he'd make sure we would never be selected.

That is pretty annoying.

The history between Arkansas and ASU is pretty nasty. They tried to use the state legislature to keep us from becoming a university, and then when that failed they helped lead the NCAA split in the 70's that forced us to drop to FCS. They also won't play us at all because they feel that Arkansas is big enough for only one FBS school.

In a way its amusing to see Long on the list because I guess they needed to find an AD whose school would never sniff the top 4, but in another way its annoying as well to see his stupid grin in the news.
