To be fully honest, I hope Ohio State would "get shafted" in such a way. Then we could all be angry about it while watching a match up that Ohio State will probably be more competitive in. Much better option than watching Ohio State get mauled.

The Big Ten needs some big wins this Bowl season more so than we need a shot at the National Championship.

The problem with that is Ohio St goes to the Rose Bowl- they're going to see either Oregon or Stanford most likely. Especially if it's Oregon- that's not a good matchup at all....

Ohio State's Defensive Backfield isn't that bad at all. It is Ohio State's offense that is the weaker link. Their defense can play.

I would much rather Ohio State take on Stanford or even Oregon than Alabama or FSU.

I dunno- they've given up at least 20 points to 5 of the 6 FBS schools they've played(only shutting down San Diego St). In the 6 FBS games, giving up 139 points in the 6 games or 23.2 PPG.

Their first game of the season they gave up 20 points to a Buffalo team that came in and played well. First game of the season.

Their second game against SDSU, as you say they only gave up 7 points. Obviously an improvement.

Their third game was AT California and yes they gave up 34 points to the home team but they scored 52? What's the Big Deal?

Their fourth game was at home against Florida A&M. 76-0, as it should be.

Their fifth game was against a strong Wisconsin team. Wisconsin scored 24 points but Ohio State scored more. What's the big deal?

Northwestern put up 30 on them with their offense that was pretty good. Unfortunately NU's defense didn't step up and gave up 40 points. Whats the big deal?

Once again they gave up 24 points to Iowa but they kept fighting and eventually halted the Iowa offense while still scoring themselves and won the game with 34 points.

You didn't make a complete statement with your stated stats. To them I say, so what? There is more to the story than a simple stat can explain.

I stand by my assertion that Ohio State will match up better against the likes of Stanford or yes...even Oregon than they would against Alabama or FSU. I don't think the average points given up by the Ohio State defense answers that assertion. How many Ohio State games have you watched?
