Fresno has only played two road games (0-5 Hawaii and 1-5 Idaho) compared to NIU's four (2 Big Ten, Idaho, and KSU).

I agree, if you are referring to this year only.

Quote:"Getting done what Boise got done requires a lot of things to go right," says Solich. "You need to win at a tremendously high level. Win your conference. Continue to go to bowl games and win bowl games. I'm not a guy that tries to look that far down the road. I want to do everything right, right now. Then another step will be ahead of you."

If it makes you feel any better NIU's one first place vote came from me.

RE: Mid Major Top 10
Here's a list of all the non AQs that have 2 or fewer losses after week 6. There are 18 teams total, 9 have a record of 3-2.
5-0 Fresno State (MWC)
5-0 Northern Illinois (MAC)
5-1 Ball State (MAC)
5-1 Bowling Green (MAC)
4-1 East Carolina (CUSA)
4-1 Ohio (MAC)
3-1 Navy (Ind)
4-2 Tulane (CUSA)
4-2 Western Kentucky (SBC)
3-2 Boise State (MWC)
3-2 Brigham Young (MWC)
3-2 Buffalo (MAC)
3-2 Louisiana (SBC)
3-2 Marshall (CUSA)
3-2 Rice (CUSA)
3-2 Texas State (SBC)
3-2 UNLV (MWC)
3-2 Wyoming (MWC)
Surprised that Navy at 3-1 with a win over Indiana got fewer votes than 5 teams with 2 losses.

I set out to look at how this compares to Sagarin, but one look at Sagarin makes it clear that its not yet connected and so is still relying in part on 2012 data. It'll be interesting to compare the two once Sagarin connects and is all 2013 data.
As far as OhioU being in the "wrong tier" ... if true, there's nothing to worry about, since they'll have a chance to prove that at Bowling Green, 12 November. One-eyed Bobcats fans may already have that penciled in as a strong away win for the Bobcats, but its reasonable for everyone else to adopt a wait and see attitude.

I just don't get it. BG is so vastly overrated. Toledo would have the same record with your schedule and judging by the way Missouri beat Indiana we would have played Indiana tougher too. Just like OU last year, you can only play so many poor teams until you get tripped up by a team with talent.
BG can prove a lot this weekend by the way they play, and maybe I'll be trembling in my boots going into Saturday the 26th... For now, even with your bye before us I AIN'T SKURD

Why would you be scared? What position do you actually play?
Dude, you're obsessing over a meaningless poll. Who really cares anyway?

Vastly?
You asked a legit question, but I don't see BG being trumpeted as the next Boise St.

Maybe, maybe not.

Only someone ignorant of football would make that claim.

You mean when they beat Penn St?
OU had injuries last year. Once again, your ignorance of football embarasses you.

Maybe not, but I don't know of a 1 loss team any worse than BG.

Well if it was close I wouldn't say anything but I watched both games, and BG was manhandled by an average Big10 team, that Mizzou scored at will against.

They had one quality win in an emotional game, then beat nobody after nobody after nobody until they hit the meat of their schedule. I'm projecting the same thing with BG when they have to play Toledo, OU, and Buffalo.

It's a message board. My opinion. Doesn't matter. Nothing we say matters. Delete the message bored if all comments that don't matter can't be said.

BGSU is a good team they look to be the front runner with Ohio and Buffalo looking like the top contenders. Kent State still has a shot to get back in the race, but needs to run the table.
