They were discussing this on GameDay this morning and agreed they did have a weak schedule.

Outside of tonight's game they haven't really played anybody. And depending on people's view WV would fall into that category as well. But I do think they will move up. Rather rapidly. There game against OU. Will tell if they are legit in my opinion.

They have certainly completely destroyed everyone they have played though.

Also, LA Tech got a top 25 ranking last year beating the ashes of the WAC. Baylor should jump closer to the top ten after tonight.

Going by the numbers, the "ashes of the WAC" was the best Non-AQ conference last year.

LA Tech's only impressive game last year was that loss to A&M.

baylor made wv look bad. wv looked slow and their qb pretty inept. arm tackling and slow secondary and baylor was off to the races.

Only way to even hang with Baylor right now is to play clock control offense, and score a TD every possession.

Yep. I think someone (maybe more than just one someone) will do it and bring Baylor back to earth...

I'm putting Baylor in the same boat as Florida State. They haven't really played anyone yet, so they could be a top 10 program, or a 20-25 program. The next few weeks will answer what kind of team they are.

You have to admit they are putting up some incredible numbers on offense so far though. WKU is 33rd in the nation in total offense with 474 yds per game but still average more than 300 yds per game behind Baylor at 780 yds per game. That is more than FIU, UMass and Miami(OH) combined. 04-jawdrop

Come on, give credit where credit is due. A 2 point loss to eventual #5 A&M, an OT loss to #16 USU, and a 9 point loss to #21 SJSU on the road en route to a 9 win season. BCS teams get ranked for doing even less.

Since when do you get ranked by almost beating good teams? LA Tech had one of the best offensive teams last year but a horrible defense. Baylor is destroying teams. What do they have to do to make it closer to the top 10? Rack up triple digits?

No they would have to be in the SEC, which in that case would make them #1-2, and they'd actually have an easier schedule then.

Even though they have not played that strong of competition, normally would think they would come back down to
earth, but got the feeling they are for real.

So if a team loses to #1 Alabama by 1 point in overtime, they shouldn't go anywhere but down in the polls right? You are ranked according to your play on the field. If you play multiple top 25 teams on the road and hang with them neck and neck then yes, you will probably impress voters and get enough votes to be ranked also. It's not perfect or rocket science, it's just the way the polls work out.

Nsavandal09, Louisianafanrcajun90 has a disdain for anything that is UL, C-USA or upper level SBC teams, especially Louisiana Tech. Last year's WAC was a good conference, but there is no point arguing it with him.

Because their name isn't Oklahoma or Texas.

Had either of those BIG12 names had the same scores and schedule as Baylor, they would be top 10 (if not top 5), and ESPN would be running the "Will ANYONE keep up with them" routine.
