I really hope this is the last English game we'll have to suffer through.

It was not Benz fault he was throwing to a spot and our receiver wasn't there.

RE: EMU VS Buffalo Game Day Comments
The only people that could help bring up EMU's football program are coaches such as Urban Meyer and Nick Saban. Of course that would never happen... I have reached the point where I think we should just drop the program or maybe start in a lower division. I mean how can you recruit ? Hey, come to our school you will win up to 8 games in your 4 year career and an avg. of 2,000 fans will see you play. Give me a break, this program is HOPELESS.

You don't "rebuild this mess" by going to a lower division. Once you go lower, you don't come back. EMU would also be out of the MAC and D1 entirely for all sports.

You need someone who can employ an offense that will allow points to be scored despite weaknesses on the OL. An Air Raid spread attack is the great equalizer. It can be done. If programs like Ball State can be successful, there is absolutely no reason why we cannot.

And Northern Illinois for that matter. Look at their recruits...not exactly guys that other schools are banging the door down for. Yet they are at the top of the MAC nearly every year. You're absolutely right, and I hope our next coach brings that kind of offense.

We had something like that under Genyk. Of course a bunch of people on THIS board and our idiot AD at the time wanted him fired every time they lost. A large number of those losses were CLOSE games and I found it hilarious that we fired a coach because he couldn't win close games. I think a large number of us would just love for us to be in close games consistently again.
By the way, for the record.. there is only one coach worse than English here. That is our Special Teams coach. I have never seen a unit at any level make as many boneheaded plays as they have. Middle School football special teams units are better than that.
And look at that.. a kickoff return for a TD.

Our special teams have been a dumpster fire all year. It would help to have a kicker that could just boot it out of the end zone, but that is obviously wayyyy too much to ask for.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, you have to be an IDIOT to come and coach EMU football. Honestly, we have a bad rep all around the country. We are a graveyard when it comes to coaching careers. If a candidate would even consider the position in our school, his friends in profession would tell him to do other wise. And it is true, because you know why ? I know that has been the case on numerous occasions and not only football but also basketball. At least in basketball we have history, and it is a little easier to recruit and put together a great team. We also have some amazing history and that is the sport that I see us excelling in. If our football team ever reaches RESPECTABLE level I will be the happiest man on the planet.
I love all of you guys but I don't see where all this positive attitude and optimism is coming from when there is COMPLETELY no basis for it. I have been following our football program for 7 years now. And in 7 years we have made ZERO progress.

Genyk's offense is not quite what I'm talking about. Still a little too traditional and reliant on the OL.
