I have to wonder what USC is attempting to gain here. What sort of 'outside the box' solutions could they be envisioning? This is the last year of their sanctions anyway and it's not like they can just go out and sign a bunch of players for this season immediately. Maybe they intend to allow for 100 scholarships or something like that for next season, or maybe be allowed to exceed the 85 scholarship limit for a few seasons. Who knows?

I have given up predicting what the NCAA will do. I'd have more success predicting the lottery at this point.

If I were them, I'd ask for a waiver of the normal maximum number of 2014 signees, so that they can sign enough players to have 85 on scholarship in fall 2014.

psu was an abnormal situation

All I here about is the players are getting hurt by sanctions by the NCAA. If PSU is allowed to get their sanctions changed by the NCAA, why not all the other schools involved in sanctions or being investigated.

Current players? USC did not have current players involved. Plus, to think that a former player or coach hurting a program by committing NCAA infractions, compared to the compliance of having a pedofile on the campus despite what coaches knew, what is the difference. Sorry to go OT, but I can't forget that.

USC should have fire bombed the NCAA office after UNCheat received a slap on the wrist for a laundry list of violations that continues to still grow despite the lack of interest by the NCAA.

NCAA should basically say no dead bodies or violated boys and you are okay because they have become an absolute joke.

and thats a huge difference. if you use the "current players" argument then you are basically making every single school immune from sanctions
