He'll at least get next year. I think folks expected a drop off after Geno Smith left + the move to the BigXII so while it hasn't looked pretty for WVU...it wasn't utterly unexpected either. If there's no marked improvement next year, then he's gone IMO.

Dana is in no danger of losing his job, despite what the talking heads at ESPiN think. He is Oliver Luck's hand picked man, and Ollie is a football guy who knows the situation Holgorsen inherited. WVU's lack of depth at all positions wasn't that big an obstacle in the BE. But the B12 is another matter...

WVU's President is backing Luck and Holgorsen as well. The only people complaining - and complaining very loudly - are t-shirt fans with absolutely no say in the matter. That's who ESPiN is listening to, as usual...

Sounds like USC, where some people might say, "Ollie Haden is a football guy who knows the situation Holgorsen Kiffin inherited."

Haden was an idiot for thinking Kiffin would have success at USC, when he's been incompetent everywhere else he's coached. Kiffin has failed as a HS coach, an NFL coach, and an FBS college coach. Why did Haden think he'd change all that at USC. You'd think a Rhodes Scholar would be smart enough to figure that out, without having to find out the hard way...

Holgorsen, on the other hand, has had success everywhere he's been. He deserves enough time to get his players in place, and he's only had ONE full recruiting class to date, and of those from last year's recruiting class, 12 have started as true freshmen. Two of the best players on offense have been freshman RB Wendell Smallwood and freshman WR Dakiel Shorts. Our shutdown corner is freshman CB Daryl Worley, who held Stefon Diggs to 2 catches for 18 yards, the lowest total of his entire career...

IMO he deserves some more time to get his team in place. He hasn't had that chance yet, since he's only coached a total of 30 games. A lot of WVU fans forget that RR went 14-16 in his first 30 games. Holgorsen's record to date is better than that...

Kiffin was already the USC HC, and the NCAA sanctions were already in place, when Haden was hired as AD.

Pretty sure Kiffin was already there when Haden was hired. That said, Kiffin does remind me a lot of Jimmy Fallon. Every time each fails, they get a better job.

I forgot they switched ADs. Ah well... 03-banghead

That merely ensures that Kiffin's days are numbered. Haden will want to put his own man in place quickly, to end all the complaints about the Trojans lack of success...

If USC loses to UCLA, you can put a fork in Kiffin. He'll be done...

Haden will dump Kiffin when he wants to. Haden has so much support at USC, and he doesn't need the money, either. If Haden thinks it's better to wait to hire a new coach until after the sanctions are done, he can wait.

I doubt Haden will wait, if Kiffin has another season like last year...

Yeah, if he has another season like last year, Lane is toast. I think he is safe for next year only if USC loses four or fewer games this year.

Of course as usual after he fired, it will will lead to Lane Kiffin being named the new head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Hell the seeds are already in place.

Jerry Jones has hired some pretty bad coaches in the past, so never say never.

Bit, you are sounding like the Kragthorpe supporters did at Louisville while he set our program back 5-years in 3-years. 07-coffee3

Dana has only had ONE full recruiting class, since he was only brought on campus a month before signing day...

Don't they usually allow a coach 3 years to get their players in place?
