TXST Mascot Saga
Boko got a new costume this year but many, many fans noticed, at the first home game, that the tail was about 3-4 feet long and emails flooded the athletic and cheer offices.

The reply was that it was a designers/seamstress? error and it was going ot be corrected before the next home game (this week)

Taking it as tongue in check, the U has come out with a "Tale of the Tail" so to speak.

Here's episode 1

and episode 2

Then today's "press release"
http://www.txstatebobcats.com/news/2013/...th=general

Great to see they could make fun of it and Seton was a was a willing participant (one of our corp sponsors)

The moral of the story is.....
God creates everyone, in His own unique way.....but we can surgically alter any perceived abnormality to become "normal"....?

He should embrace his handicap....er......uniqueness.

RE: TXST Mascot Saga
I am just amazed that so many Texas State fans know how long a Bobcat's tail is supposed to be. If I come across a Bobcat in the wild, the last thing I will be doing is checking to see how long its tail is.

I could have fixed it with needle, thread, scissors and 10 minutes of time.

I think it's great that they are doing it. They hosed, and apparently a BUNCH of folks made note about it.

So they went ahead and made fun of themselves, and did a little promotions while they're at it.

A bobcat gets its named from its bobbed tail.

I saw one while out deer hunting one time. It was quite a bit fatter and much more grey than that. I wasn't fast enough with my gun to get a shot.
Interesting animal though.

Interesting animal though.

There is a lot of regional, even seasonal, variation in color among bobcats. The ones I have seen in North Louisiana were also much greyer than that one.

Great job by sports marketing! They handled this beautifully and will get some positive mileage out of a bad situation.
