and syracuse is 2nd in NBA lottery picks the last few years despite having an average recruiting class ranking of 22nd in those years

the point: recruiting doesnt equal wins

So you are telling me that the conferences that get the highest rated recruits are not usually the best conferences? I don't think so...

RE: is the big east now a mid major conference?
I'm sorry guys but reading this thread is like trying to watch mud wrestling minus beautiful women. It's just a whole lot of dirt getting slung around. Maybe the concentration on designing threads for an open board can be centered around either real news, an actual game, a constructive suggestion, or anything other than my conference is better than yours. Or, I just can't stand your conference stuff. Or more appropriately here we count because we have football and you don't. This thread was a non starter and quite frankly there have been way too many of them lately.

I think the most constructive posts I read in this entire thread were from LSUtah suggesting different forms of governance and pointing out the regional nature of the present structure. Both points hit at the substance of the issues here.

Big East basketball will be a power basketball conference. They don't even play football so referencing them to that is ridiculous. It is really two different worlds. Basketball as a whole is really totally different from the many different issues of football.

If you want to query something negative about your own program or conference fine. But if you are going to question something about someone else's program or conference then pin it to the news, or a game, but something more tangible than your own suppositions which under those circumstances can only appear to be purposefully denigrating.

But the direction of this thread is heading nowhere worth going.
