If you were an AD who walks in off the street at the BEGINNING of a season and fires the coach, do you think you are going to have huge success bringing in other coaches?

I think at the end of the season is 500 ball and another 1st exit, i pull the trigger the same day and introduce my new coach the next day.

In other words you need to have this all lined out before you do it.

If he fired him after this season, so be it. But I doubt he would walk in from Day #1 and fire him. In the first place, that would be terribly disruptive to the program to have the coach fired with no scandal at the beginning of the season. In the second place, any AD worth is going to want to see the lay of the land before he takes action.

I couldn't agree more. if Chris leaves and we don't hire an AD until the Spring, I don't think there will be any coaching changes. If Chris were to leave next month, and we hire someone new before New Year's Day who is here for the conference season, that's a different story.

I really didn't think Chris had much of chance for the UNLV job, but with Wally's glowing endorsement who knows.

I'm anxious to see his hogs-Texas A&M prediction for this week.

Yeah. That ought to be interesting.

Yeah. That ought to be interesting.

Has Wally ever picked against the hogs, other than when they are about to play Alabama? Maybe he has, but I can't recall. But honestly, I don't think even Wally will be picking them to win this week. But he is now at the point (and will be for awhile) where he will be blaming all the poor play on Petrino's recruiting and extolling the virtues of BeliemaBall. He will still be on the Mike Anderson bandwagon, for another year, although he can no longer blame things on John Pelphrey. The question with Wally is always "When will the Pendulum swing".

I wasn't specifically speaking of him getting canned between now and the beginning of the season Pappy. But I do believe that coaches understand that a new AD wants to come in and put his brand of the program, especially one like ours that has been treading water for a long time, and in most cases that usually means cutting loose the coach and hiring his own choice. And there are enough out there that want a chance to be a head coach and run their own program.

I have no doubt there would be some pretty strict standards for the end of the year. (Of course, all this assumes Chris gets the UNLV job.)

I have a lot of doubts. I think we should wait and see if Chris gets the UNLV job. If he doesn't, I guess it's business as usual.
