I really wish my fellow Jag fan(s) would lay off GSU.

This so-called dumpster fire managed to hang one on us two years ago.

Like it or not, they are our conference mates and their success helps us.
Might as well pull for them in OOC games.
Especially FCS ones.

You need to chill. USA hasn't won enough games to be calling any body out!

South winning games has nothing to do with my displeasure of being conference mates with Georgia St. Their lack of support and lack of being competitive is my problem.
Dude! Are you getting an IRS audit?

Let's see how good your school's attendance is if you haven't won a home game since 2011.

That would require the NCAA taking action, and when has the NCAA ever taken serious action for attendance?

Correct me if i'm wrong but didn't they bring up the issue with USA? THey may not do anything and I wasn't really even just speaking as far as the NCAA either. With the way the weather is today this post may be premature though, i'd be surprised if there are 2,500 people in the dome unless JSU brings a lot of fans.

This was a Ladd Stadium issue, not a USA attendance issue. Ladd Stadium has its own management. The NCAA wouldn't accept Ladd Stadium's attendance counts. They were accurate, but the NCAA didn't take them nonetheless. USA is remedying that problem this year by bringing in its own counting system that the NCAA will recognize. Attendance is a non-issue.

Georgia State is really haveing a tough year but don't you think you could let them grow up a bit. You would think they have playing football a hundred years. When they came in did anyone think they would be world beaters. If you did you weren't thinking at all. As young as that program is they are not ever FCS yet much less FBS. FBS on paper only...it takes time.

More than half the fans were from Jax State. So cut their number in more than half. Bad decision by SBC.

Jsu vs. Una nearly 21,000

RE: Well Georgia St draws better than FAU
I was at the FAU game, on the field. I guessed about 10,000, arriving late (Why schedule a noon game?).

The students came in force, but arrived late, in part due to a 24-hour tailgate party ending late. The students got loud and made the game entertaining.

FAU is going to have to start winning to rebuild or build its fan base. The stadium atmosphere is great with a fantastic stadium (all chair back), two club levels, great sight lines, good food and drink choices, excellent video board and sound system and now a little oasis area near one end zone corner with beach sand, palm trees, misting stations and small pools.

It hasn't helped that UMiami has made a bit of a resurgence. That will go away with the NCAA penalties.

It was hot as hell out. I am extremely sunburned.

Oh, and FAU is not in or even near Miami. It's in the Palm Beach market (about 2 million people and ranked No. 38).

Lack of being competitive?

Do you mean in football? 10/22/2011
USA 20
GSU 27 (2OT)

or perhaps basketball? 11/21/2012
USA 73
GSU 75

People come in as late as possible as has been pointed out. That picture was taken before most people came into the stadium. But hey it helps with you guys slamming a former Belt team so have at it.

There are other things to do in South Florida too unlike the middle of nowhere towns a lot of the Sun Belt teams reside in.

Wasn't trying to slam as much as show that others struggle with Georgia St. Saw it on a twitter feed for a beat writer at the game. The state of Florida in general doesn't seem to support sports well. Just look at the Dolphins, Rays, and Marlins. Lots to do and many people move there and still support their former teams.

GaSt still has to fight the uphill fight for recognition against UGA and to a lesser extent GaTech, both of whom were playing on Saturday at home and which were both televised in ATL. Because GaSt didn't previously have football it was natural that their graduates align with one of the instate universities, usually UGA. It will take time and a few wins for the students and alumni to fully support GaSt. When I was at App in the 70's you saw more students wearing damn UNC, Duke, and NCSU apparel on campus that App swag and we had an existing and pretty damn good football team...you don't see that anymore. Under Trent Miles hopefully he can recruit some of the football talent that exists in GA. App has certainly enhanced their program with strong recruiting in GA and GaSt should be able to as well. It takes time and they basically wasted 3 years under Curry, a nice man and recognized name but not a builder of programs. I look forward to a healthy rivalry between App and GaSt as well as other SBC programs. On the bright side, GaSt will have a new state of the art domed stadium with an opening roof to attract some fans in 2017.

How is that the only answer when you went 6-5 your first year and the attendance was nearly a third what it was the first game by the end of the season? The logic just doesn't make sense.

The Falcons are going to allow Georgia State to play in that stadium? Same rent?

san jose state draws about 7000 to home games and gets in the mwc .

Why would anyone want to be in their seats a half hour prior to kickoff? I mean you should be partying with your buds until the absolute last moments you can get seated without a problem.

At FAU, the way you talking about attendance, you need about ten minutes to get your concessions and seated in time for the alma mater, and national anthem.
