I think we have offered this kid
HOLT, Alabama -- RaAnthony Sanders, Holt High School's leading scorer for the past three seasons, signed a basketball scholarship with the Tulane Green Wave on Monday, according to TuscPreps.com.
TuscPreps.com reports Sanders has scored more than 1,000 points since his sophomore year and averaged 22 points, 11 rebounds and four assists as a senior and was named to the Class 4A All-State team as an honorable mention.
"This is a huge step in my life," the 6-foot-3 shooting guard said. "This is at the top of the charts. I'm the first one of my mom's children to graduate high school and go to college.
"I kind of took on the responsibility to put my family in the spotlight, so I'm real happy right now."
He played very little at Tulane last year and transferred to Pensacola Junior College.

Check wku. They have 18 offers to fill 1 spot. That is interesting. I wonder how many offers it takes to fill a spot by a normal program.

So Kahron Ross (kid we offered this year) is the only 3 star player on our entire board going back 4 years..

micky, I think the whole star system boils down to who offers the kid. I put no stock it in.

Or Scottie Pippin. On the other hand, the percentage of 5 stars that ended up in the NBA is probably 100X higher. I agree, on our level, who is recruiting you strongly influences the recruiting rankings.

I just think after the high profile kids no one can cover it. Too many kids coast to coast.

I think it's easier to rate a five star than the others because they are so far advanced than most of the other players at their levels that it's easy to spot them. Labron James was probably pretty easy to rate a five star in high school. Sure, some don't achieve their potential, but many do. It makes for interesting conversation.

May not matter a whole lot, but I would rather be signing 3 stars with an occasional 4 star thrown in, like WKU consistently does. Are their players rated higher because they're WKU or are they signing better players. I would argue that the latter is true, although there may be a little of both.

RE: I think we have offered this kid
I think they do. I think most teams in the SBC in the last 10 years have signed better talent that us. I think Steve did more with less int eh 1st 5 years and we all let it go and it was great.
at the 10 year mark our talent needs to be equal to the top teams. I think it is. It boils down to Steve coaching them up at this point which we all think he has a hard time doing on the offensive end.
Honestly, I think the defense is bad too. We never seem to stay with the shooters on the other team.
